Im sure lots of people have seen the thread

in the ASK THE LAW section http://www.tristatetuners.com/forum/...654#post862654

I think it is total bull****. Someone needs to start a nice suit so people are not constantly abused. Thats called profiling. one of the statements was about why would someone put all those mods on their car if they didn't want to go faster. Thats bull****. So a supercharged corvette isn't illegal in anyway cause its OEM. Bull****. you have porches in the 10 second range STOCK. And they don't say anything about that. Total bull****. Sorry for the rant. Feel free to add and have a debate. But keep it cool

I'm not worried about that cause thats California and I live in Pennsylvania. I'm not going to get upset over laws that don't affect me. Let the Governator do what he wants.

Trivia Question:

Q: What state does new laws and similar items get tried out in before spreading to other states?

A: California

Another Q: What states does said laws transfer to first?

A: Texas, Florida, and/or Pennsylvania.

But that's just my opinion and what it seems like from the media.

.

ur actually quite right, best example is the federal/california emission type cars....a while back california had ever stricter emission laws for new vehicles and had to be better on emissions...then all the sudden other states passed the same law....the firts staes to jump on board....new jersey, pa, ct, and a few others from the northeast....thats why cars going to U.S. are either made by "federal" emission standars or "california" emission standards...depending on which state they will be sold in. after 07 all MY cars sold in PA are cali emission

I don't either. I think the cops were trying to be complete dicks to who ever was there in the parking lot. It doesn't matter where the people are hanging out, they are just looking for an excuse to give them hard time. Just my .02 cents worth.

you should care.... those are your rights being violated over there. Only a matter of time before it will happen over here... Half of these jackass cops know nothing. I didn't think you have to be to bright to be a cop (no offense to any cops on here). I don't even know how these cops even think they are doing anygood. Thats why people don't respect them. They harass you and profile you any chance they get. And they think they get away with it. And these ****ing stupid ass judges don't seem to give a **** about the youth. They think they are teaching kids a lesson. The only lesson that they are teaching kids are that you can't rely on the cops and they cause nothing but problems.

Well when it comes here I'll start to care. Living in pa and protesting something that has nothing to do with me? I'll start to protest it when it comes to pa.

Classic cars can have just about anything on or in them. (Ex. blower sticking thru the hood and still being street legal while blocking vision)

Yeah and you can easily get that by registering it as that. Insurance is also cheaper. My dads 74' stingray was so loud it disrupted TV reception but that thing passed inspection that year. I just see no relevance of classic cars when I'm sure none of the cars were classics.
Back on topic: What can we honest do against it now? Start a PA petition against future car regulating laws in PA?

Seems to me the cops have been doing this in PA for a long time. They actually did this in Richboro a few times before TST was even a thought in Troll's fragile little mind, and coincidently it was the same parking lot that freshworks is in now.

****, I even got a street racing ticket once at 3am when I was the only car on the road. The quote from the cop, "Well, look at your car. If you aren't racing now you know you were at some point".

I will deal with it as I have always done. Once the cops target an area you stay away. They don't have the manpower, money, or patience to move around as fast as we can. They can't even organize themselves enough most of the time to set up an effective DUI checkpoint, you know, like the one they do every New Years Eve, every year, on the same road, at the same time. LOL.

I found the local news article through the GRM forum. It seems as though the attendees of this 'meet' were at least making a nuisance of themselves in the parking lot and the businesses complained then the police monitored it for a while before the crackdown.

Honestly, I don't think anything will change the way cops react to such events. People are going to meet up and show off their cars either way, and the cops are just gonna keep coming, and kicking everyone out, or giving tickets, for whatever mood they're in that day. The quieter, and more behaved, I guess, everyone is, then the longer they stay away. This is just what I think about it.

Cali... not surprised, as they have a lot of silly laws and enforcement.

I agree, but the problem is that it only takes one person that can't remain mature enough to not lay tire all over the lot. Once that happens, the rest of the group gets that reputation.

Pearl.... everything to the cops is illegal. I mean come on now. Exhausts that meet the requirments are still illegal for some reason. They are just a bunch of douche bags. They tried telling me my OEM honda 50/50 tail lights were illegal. He wanted to argue with me cause my turn signal lenses are white. Then they keep you there for 30 minutes. Which is bull**** in itself. I heard they keep you there for a certain amount of time cause people were complaining about it.

I feel cops do profile in our area...for example: I was driving home late one night, like 2:30am and i got pulled over on Bustleton avenue doing a little over the limit. It was desolate out, the cop was on a side street, pulled right out behind me at a red light..soon as the light turned green he put his lights on.

Mind you i went out with friends right from work, so I was still wearing slacks, shirt and tie. My car is dropped, tinted out with an exhaust. he didnt hesitate to pull me over or approach my car...when i rolled the window down and he saw that i wasnt some punk he simply says "put ur seatbelt on and slow down..have a good night" I even had a few beers in me, this dude didnt even blink when he saw me.......i guarantee if i was wearing street clothes i would got the business....
