Speed limit....

I'm hoping it is not just me but it seems like people overall don't drive the speed limit lately...compared to maybe like 4 years ago. Everyone goes 30 in a 35 and 35 in a 45. It's just ridiculous....I know it's a "limit" but still...

I second that! Eventually you get to pass them, and they stop right up on your bumper and give you evil looks. Sorry for having a well maintained performance car that I'm comfortable with and you have all the time in the world!

*shrug*, don't know what happens in PA. That only happens when there's traffic in NYC.

I found myself doing that in the Xterra...guilty as charged.

Dunno why though...anything else...the "limit" is more like a "cap"...beats me...

people generally only give looks and slow down on purpose when you're riding their ass or driving aggressively when its not necessary, how else would you have grabbed their attention? i like to have fun in my car but not if its compromising anyone elses 'personal road space'... its just general respect of the road.

On an open road, I like to do the limit or 5-10 over depending on volume. I HATE when people go 10 below in the left lane.

i personally can atest to this. I used to drive 5-10 over the speed limit. In the past 6 months Ive slowed down a ton, matured i guess. I barely go over the limit.

It's hard to do that around here.. if you do the limit, you have some dipwad tailgating you.. Basically, I just stay with the flow.

ill be a complete ass if someone is driving 10 below the limit. ill get right on their ass. **** is annoying and happens everyday. i hate slow drivers with a passion. if the are doing the limit then i dont care. but if they're going 10 slower, i flip out. road rage ftw. one other thing i hate is when people take turns like they are turning an 18 wheeler.

rant over.

I RARELY see anyone driving slower than the posted limit. I usually lead parades everywhere I go. I don't speed in my van unless I'm on the highway, then I usually keep it below 80. No matter where I go or how fast I drive in the Sprinter, there WILL BE a tailgating prick stuck to my back bumper.

Want a good scare???? Drive the Mini at the speed limit. I can't really explain the warm, fuzzy feeling I get when I look in the rear view and see nothing but front of a car/truck behind me. These morons can't physically see my brake lights!!

I hate that crap! I know it's a lot worse in your Mini though because of it's height. It bothers me more when I'm in my Sentra, because I know that if I have to brake suddenly my Sentra and stop quickly but the SUV riding my bumper can't. That doesn't bother me so much in the Xterra because I'm driving the big SUV that can't stop quickly.

Slowing down should be a natural progression, IMO. Over the past year and a half I have slowed down considerably. Other people slowing down is not a bad thing either. Most of the time riding their bumper is going to cause them to slow down more. All you have to do is stay a car length back and wait for your opportunity to pass. That's not saing that I don't get frustrated when I run into someone that is going too slow.

Tailgaiting is about the stupidest god damn thing you can do! I am glad you are proud of it. You don't know what the other person has in their glovebox be it a gun or a nice big Fuc**in wrench. I drive ~50-55mph when its raining on 95. I love watching people hit the wall. Those of you from richboro know how the police station is hidden. I called the cops on this guy that was following me and lead him directly to the police station Very rewarding!

yea but it only happens if the person is driving like a jerkoff by driving ten under. if your scared to go 45, get off the ****ing road and hand in your license.

ever since i got my truck, i have always tried to keep it around the speed limit. now that i am a little bit more mature then i was in highschool, I don't speed as much. i usually try to do the speed limit, wich is usually 35/45 depending on where i am, but i will, admit i will go no more then 5 miles an hour over the limit. i also hate when people do the speed limit on a highway in the left lane, that annoys the **** out of me, just like when i am doing 65/70 and i am getting tailgated by some douche-bag in a big ass suv. next time that happens, i am driving with my tailgate down, and slamming on my brakes. talegate right to the radiator, that will make my day.

Depending on what the speed limit is, I will generally do about 5-10 over it. I generally drive at 50mph, it's just a comfortable spot for me to be in 5th gear. 35mph speed limits I stick to, I can stick it in 4th and just cruise. Anything between 35-50 drives me insane, either the lower gear is too annoying (loud constant drone blagh) or the next gear up is too low RPM wise (8:5:1 1.6L... lol).

People who can't drive the speed limit drive me f'in insane though. I also hate it when I get on my favorite curvacious roads late at night and get stuck behind just about anyone, because none of them are ever going fast enough lol.

I have to agree with everyone here. I can not stand tailgaters. Do you guys think it would be legal to make a spike about 18 inches long and weld it to my dads trailer hitch. When people get close just hit the brakes and watch the spike go into the front of thier car/truck.
