Who does internet trading???

I wanted to get into buying some stocks and was wondering if anyone knew what online trading company to use. I dont know that much about stocks just the basics and what i remember from my finance class. SO id prefer one that is made for the novice.

If you're really only familiar with the basics, don't throw your money away by gambling, put it into a good mutual fund and let the professionals handle it.

I use AmeriTrade... I used to use E-Trade but found that Ameritrade has more tools to help make buy/sell decisions.

Chris, what exactly is a contract fee? I have been looking at ameritrade and TD waterhouse and both have fees per contract. Ameritrade looks like the better deal though. TD waterhouse charges you a monthly fee if you are under a certain amount of trades, does ameritrade do that?

Pete, join me making millions!!! HA HA

Jim, I dont feel it will be throwing my money away. I am going to be getting some stocks through my work so i want to know how to make more money with them. If i go to a broker yeah its safer but at the same time i am out of the loop and i hate that. Id much rather me lose my own money than pay some guy to lose it for me.
