I quit my job today.

And for the first time in my life im seriously scared of whats gonna happen.

Ive worked for Reedman-Toll with a Sub Contracted company called N.A.D.N for about 2 and a half years. My Boss and I have not once ever gotten along because I have a real no bull**** attitude when it comes to my money.

For the last few months we have had a serious turnover and lost alot of good guys to his attitude also. One manager, whom my boss started a fist fight with because he was drunk. Then put someone with less motivation, and less skill in that managers position who in turn neglected to makes sure we were getting paid properly on our work. So then more people quit. Not me though.

Then I swear to god he went to the neshaminy mall bus port and started handing out jobs to people waiting for the bus. And instead of hiring good workers, he got high school drop outs and recovering or current addicts or all of the above really. These guys are the most disrespectful bunch of hardass morons I have ever worked with But still I stayed and continued to work hard.

last week my pay check was $30 short. this is a big deal because of my 401k eating my paychecks alive. It was written as an adjustment or charge back to a vehicle that I had detailed and amounts to a total of 3 hours removed from something that pays 4 or 5. I was NOT happy.

I confront him as politely as possible and he tells me I never earned that money. You see a car pays a total of 4 hours unless its a hard car and then it pays 5. Trucks pay 5 hours and have paid 6 if they needed more attantion.

i got payed for 3 trucks and 3 of them were special and payed 6 hours not by my request but by the managers opinon.

He decides to just take that money from me, and when I confront him with it he tells me i never deserved it anyways. and then starts ripping all my work apart for the next week to get back at me. Today he lied to me and told me that a customer was very unhappy with my work and I had to redo it. I re did it and then spoke with the salesman only to find out that he lied.

So after 2 and a half years i took my check and left. And I am not going back.

I was a hard working guy. We worked peicework and I totaled on average for a 5 day work week 65-70 hours. Tell me i didnt deserve my 30 dollars. **** that.

Wow. Another veteran gone? I can backup everything Keith says. Our Boss is a real shadey guy. Everytime he opens his mouth you really just want to put your fist through his head. He always singles out Keith for these big fights too, it's really unprofessional behavorior.

That sucks man... worthless bosses suck... I have a boss that missed an entire day of work because his wife took his key ring...why his wife doesn't have a set of keys for his car on HER ring i'll never understand... Whats worse is that has happened TWICE in 2 months...He missed a day because he woke up with a leg cramp... you wouldn't believe some of the other lame excuses he comes up with. The man is a hypcondriac to make things worse...

I'm working P/T for an auto parts store and nobody there does sh*t except for me and one of the other managers.

I work 8 hours straight without breaks, and meanwhile there are other people, mainly everyone else that sits around and doesn't do anything. I'm normally the one doing everyone else's job while another manager screws off with the employees when he's on duty.

So, a few weeks ago I'm busting my ass and this dude pulls up in this hot 4th Gen Camaro. I go out to help the guy, and then get my ass reemed when I get back in because I was "screwing off." Meanwhile, indoors, everyone was throwing around a Kooshball at each other. I was fuming mad. I'd love to quit but unfortunately I don't have that luxury because I have mortgage, a bit of a credit card debt, and other lovely bills to pay.

I also do some consulting, but that just ain't cuttin' it. I'd love to be able to walk my ass right outta that job.

I don't know what's worse.......panicking because you just quit, or panicking because you're at a sh*tty job and don't know where you're going to go....

Yeah on monster.com goodyear posted for sales people and manager in training positions. dont waste your time with someone that treats you like that.. itll obviously get to you. someone else will appreciate your work more. good luck!

^^^ I've been in that same place where an employer thinks any A-hole off the street can do a good job, be reliable, and treat customers/co-workers with respect. It just doesn't happen that way.

You did the right thing by leaving that situation. Good luck getting another job.

Im still gonna do side jobs, and in fact im much more inclined to to it now so... Im just not going back into a detail shop. Its worthless. My boss used to tell us that it was a thankless job and to get over it.
