Places to go offroad in Central/Southern NJ?

Hello, I am looking for places in central or southern jersey to do a little offroading (nothing crazy, just gravel or dirt trails really). Searches are showing me that the only spots are really in Northern jersey/ stokes state park region. Anyone know of any decent trails to do a bit of light off road driving?

Pine barrens has plenty of trails to just drive down. As long as you aren't being an ass no one will bother you.

Trying to find a good spot in the Pine Barrens to go through (I know they're huge) but having some trouble finding what townships they go through. I'm guessing mostly Burlington county?

Around Hacklebarney State Park has some nice dirt roads. Not far from you either

Went here a couple weeks ago actually, a lot of the dirt roads had posted/no trespassing signs up though. Planning on going back next weekend (plans to go to ghost road may fall through).

EDIT: living in Northern Jersey now so I'm also looking for some other good places to get a little dirty. Went to sunrise mountain last weekend as well, though no dirty stuff was found there.

Go to Apple Pie Hill. There is a fire lookout tower that you 'can' climb and look out over everything. On a clear day it's said you can see Atlantic City and Philly from the tower. It's pretty much all easy trails, some water crossings that are 2-3' deep on average, etc. If I made it in my Geo Tracker with 30" BFG A/T and 2" lift, almost anything can. I know my buddy that lives down there takes his EvoX back in on some of the roads and screws around.

From 2010:

That Apple Pie Hill looks nice but I'd be going in a stock Volvo XC70 and it might be a bit too rough for the car (especially those river crossings haha)

apple pie hill no longer has any river crossing to get to. you can enter it right past atco raceway and its smooth sailing; been back there in a care.

Wharton, Baptisto (sp), Colliers Mills, theres plenty of trails for quite some time in there. Or look at Rausch Creek in PA.

Well that changes that, will have to make Apple Pie Hill a spot to visit for sure.

This really intrigues me, is it one of those Weird NJ places? Probably gonna go to Ghost Lake in Warren county in one of the upcoming weeks.

Sounds like there are a lot more places to go then I had originally thought, thanks guys!

Here you go, my buddies truck and my forester. The water isnt in the main path so its easy to avoid if you dont want to do stuff like that. The main trail looks like the other pics.

That does look perfect. I'll make ghost road a priority for sure.

WeirdNJ has a lot of locations around south jersey that are in/around the pine barrens area. You can also take it straight through to the shore if you're feeling adventurous.

Youll come off a small overpass over train tracks, make a right, make an immediate left onto burnt mill rd, then follow that road all the way down until the pavement turns to dirt, then the fun begins.

Planning on heading to the Pine Barrens this Sunday, not too sure where though, most likely that Atco ghost road thing that Shipman mentioned. Anyone else interested in coming down should, could be a good time.
