"Low Budget Racing" 800WHP+ GTI!

Here are some pictures of the 2012 set up. The car is tuned by Kevin Black and was built on a some what small budget. The fab work was done by Mark @ Hell Bent Race Cars & Customs. The car is still streetable. I take it to work about 2 days a week and leave the chute on and everything.

enjoy guys!

All last season we were chasing trans issues. The car wouldn't shift above 8,000rpms but the fastest pass we made ( which is embarrassing to say ) was a 11.17 @ 131. That was basically short shifting every gear just to put a number up. This year we put a SQS dog box in the car so we should be good to go.

The low budget thing is because I can't pony up and afford to run Outlaw SFWD and compete. We can ALMOST compete in Trust Street/SFWD with this setup

Well my side business is a own line parts store. I am goin to contact a moderate on here and see how much to advertise on here . But to answer the question I bought this car new off the show room floor back in 2003 when I was 17 so since then this car had numerous set ups on it so I would say i have about close to 70k into it.

The car does 1.68 60fts and we can get them lower when we finally get all bugs out of the car.
As for the traction comments this isn't 1999 anymore. We control the boost with the rear wheel speed. <3 SEM
How could anyone compare a Honda to a VW? Honda's better flowing heads, better Trans, and weigh a lot less.

Love the "this isn't 1999 anymore" comment.. It's so true.. Way to many people still think if somethings FWD it's prob. only good for 14 second passes and anything over X amount of HP is a waste. It's like they only sit on the internet and go to sonic meets rather then actual Race events...

Major Prop's to you for this Build.. I would walk past just about every Retailed 70k car to check yours out and spark up conversation because of the work done.

Well, in away it is a problem. Any RWD car will hook better then a FWD car but these cars (FWD) are coming a long way with traction. But yes I do feel like people still think it is "1999" and have a close mind. I don't care what it is, if it makes power I like it.
Here is the car on the WG spring making about 500whp ish on pump taking on a turbo GTO
notice theres not much of traction problems with no boost controller?

Here is the staged boost off of the front wheel speed making 750whp+ on street tires

Been out of the VW scene for about 6 years but used to own a few. Back then a APR "sp?" god mode. I have a soft spot still for VW's but enjoy my Honda quite a lot. You sir have a lot of money, time, and heart ache in your car. Congrats.
