Fox Marketing 2012 550hp, Widebody Civic Si

Object: Get aftermarket manufactures to make parts so everyone can hook up their future 12 Civic also. Build a street car, not a trailer queen!
Debut: Honda Booth - SEMA 2011
Key Features: 550hp (est.) on Stock K24, Widebody, clean styling.

First of all, I would like to thank everyone at Honda-Tech for letting me showcase this future build for all to see. It's an honor to be on the largest, and most knowledgeable site on the planet.

9-14-2011 - 4pm-7pm
I ordered the car in July from my local dealer here in York. The car got built on Aug 4th, and I FINALLY received the car so I could work my magic. The Tsunami really slowed down production for Honda which I understand.

The 12 Civic Si on the upper deck of the car carrier ready to come down. Now, I'm starting to get excited!!!

A block down the street is Mugsy's Repair here in York, Pa. I wanted these guys to do all my mechanical work because Rick (who owns the place) is a 20 years Honda Gold Certified Tech. He knows all these cars like the back of his hand. They have been working on my fleet of cars since 2004 for me now.

First thing we did was put up on the lift and get all the stock brakes off the car. Then, we laid out the SSBC Big Brake Kit for the install. I choose a 13 inch 4 piston caliper for the front and a 12.2 rear BBK upgrade.

You can really see the difference just in the rotors from the factory.

Rick works on the rear 12.2 inch 2 piston upgrade on the rear while I take a shot.

The Front SSBC kit looks awesome!

Next, on the menu was to lower the SI. I worked with Road Magnet from Baltimore to make me a 1.3inch lowering spring till theYonaka new Coilovers are made for the car also. All about options here people.

We put the car down the ground to make sure we didn't have any clearance issues. I really LOVE how the car sits now, and the SSBC Big Brakes fit inside the factory wheel/tire set-up.

9-15-2011 - 8am-11am

Before the car left Mugsy's Repair, I decided to slap on the flare to make sure I got the offset of the new Vossen Wheels CV3's right. We did a 20x10.5 (they where out of stock on 18, and 19x10.5) so we had to go this way. Mugsy's then mounted and balanced them for me with 255/30/20's all the way around. I need a wider tire in the front or it is just going to spin.

After we did some test fitting we put the stock wheels back on the car to dolley up to Croll's Customs in Reading, PA.

It took about 50 minutes from Mugsy's to drive up to Josh's shop in Reading. For the next month, it will be at paint and body folks!!!

Definitely interested to see how this build goes. I've heard Honda is making it more and more difficult to mod these cars. Is it true that the exhaust manifold is welded/integrated into the head?

Also, spotted a Full Race sticker on the car. Please, please, please tell me they are going to fab up something for this car they had a great turbo set up out for the 8th gens.

I only run that best buddy. Full-Race production turbo kit is coming to the shop first week of Oct. for this bad boy. Then, time to hit the dyno with video so you boys can see the REAL DEAL. I don't build show cars, I build street cars. It's the Fox difference.

jen that is def true. i had one in the shop today. im gonna guess these new k24 engines in these civics are compatiable with anyother k20 head. preferably a k20a2 head. i still need to do my reasearch on these. weve only got one on our lot. also just like the k20z3, these engines are drive by wire.
if it were me, id swap to the k20a2 head and use the cable throttle body that came on the rsx type s so i could take full advantage of k pro instead of using flash pro.
working at honda has its perks haha.

either way, im stoked to see the outcome of this. all of the cars you guys build are epicly awesome!

All of your builds turn out pretty epic, so updates will be exciting. Stretched tires, though? And, we're not on HondaTech, haha

Very nice. Interested to see how you get around the exhaust manifold. 20's are too big IMO. I would go with some wide 18s and meaty tires

18's is what I wanted and tried to get them from a TON of manufactures in the offset I needed. The problem was NO ONE had them in stock and I needed them on the car before it went to paint, and body. I wanted to do an 18x10.5 all the way around. But, what you will be surprised to learn is it is only 2lb's more per side then the 18x10.5 I wanted from Work. So 10lb's I can shave out somewhere else. Every 100lbs is .10 in the quarter which I'm sure you already knew.
