When you got your permit you should have been told what you can and can't do. Check with you states DMV

yea therestrictions on the permit are daytime only and no passengers. the problem is the dmv is booked way ahead to take my test and im going to the beach next weekend.

my questions are is a permit valid out of state? and if i get pulled over around here after dark is it a point violation or a fine and do i risk losing my normal license?

1505. Learner's permits.
(C) Operation of motorcycle - A motorcycle learner's permit entitles the person to whom it is issued to operate a motorcycle only between sunrise and sunset and, except for a driver licensed to drive another class of vehicle, only while under the instruction and immediate supervision of a licensed motorcycle operator. Motorcycle learners shall not carry any passenger other than an instructor properly licensed to operate a motorcycle.

I see nothing that says you can't ride out of state but after dark is covered.. I can't find what the penalty is if your found to be operating after dark. Most likly you will be denied a motorcycle license
