What I do know is that anyone who would rather take an older car with 'modifications' done to it over a new car with a warranty and MORE power needs to get there head checked.

Coming from someone who has modified cars for the last 10 years with turbos, direct port n2o systems, SC's, engine rebuilds and basically everything you can do PLUS I race all my cars I would still rather have a NEW car over an older modified one. they are less likely to brake, have better engineering behind them, come with a factory warranty and most importantly are VERY RELIABLE. Show me a modified car that falls in that catagory. You can't because once you modify a car, to the point Adam's car is, you lose the reliability factor amoung other things.
I don't see the point in this statement. He has a car that he likes and he swapped an sti drivetrain into it. What makes that any more or less reliable then buying a brand new sti and modding it? He likes his bug eye. Warranty's are for pansies that don't know how to mod their car and break stuff. You sound like someone who buys a car, mods the hell out of it, brake **** then returns it to stock and gets it fixed. You should learn to accept the responsibility that what you did caused it to break. The only time I took my car to get fixed under warranty was when it was something that had nothing to do with mods I had. Now go buy a brand new car and mod it.

Anyway, block looks awesome. Good luck with the rebuild!

You speak from excperience so therefore I should trust you.....um no. Sorry man I come from a life of auto restoration where making it as good as new is just some hard work away from reality. If you don't know how to do the work yourself or know someone really well who does then for the most part you are right. A new car isn't always better, a modified car doesn't have to be less reliable (hell upgrade the trans on a wrx and it's already more reliable). If new cars are so much more reliable why do people bother buying used vettes and vipers when they could have a new Aveo or Calibur. If that's what 10 years of moding cars has taught you maybe someone should have taught you how to do it right.
Back on topic, I will be waiting for Adam to give me a ride in this beast, and if there is one difference in the way it is now over what it was then I will eat my hat.

With the ammount of $$$$ I got from insurance the car will not be the same at all. For the most part it will be half carbon fiber with a full repaint job. . . . it will look totaly different. Motor wise I had already bought all the mods over the winter B4 the crash
-FP Green
-PE850 injectors
-Tial 38mm EWG
-AP fuel rails
-Areomotive filter and fuel regulator
-Wilwood 6pot front - 4pot rear brakes

There are some other things going into the motor that are AREA1320 top secret projects for the moment. But I belive I will be back on the road some time in July or early August

That is mad wrong of you to say. I bought a 2000 2.5rs coupe to mod, are you going to tell me I can't afford an STi? That I hate? Do I need to get my head checked out as well because I just don't like the new body style and like the gc8 body better?

So I can think of a lot of modified cars that are very reliable. My friends Turbo NSX, Turbo 350z, 350awhp Evolution.
You want modified WITH a warranty? How about a Comptech Supercharged S2000 with a FULL factory warranty on everything including the supercharger?

And they usually look at you like a god.

Buy an STi, STis are for people, who want to spend wayyy to much money on a car and say ahhhh yeah its an sti.

Rebuliders are people who like to buy cars and put money in then and stand in the face of STi buyers and oh i have a WRX and it will smoke the **** out of you and it looks wayy better, Oh and i spent waaayyyy lesss than you. HAHA

sorry for the hate but im just tired of most higher end car drivers (STis in this case) thinking their sh** doesnt stink and they are just the best cause they spent wayyyy to much on a car. and also some WRX drivers thinkin that their car will never be as good as a STi, that is not true, keep your head up and keep workin and you will have way more satisfaction and a better car.

alright im done lol
In the end, its a modded STI, basicly. So why not jut buy the STI and mod it from there? Its not about being snotty and crap. I understand having fun building it but it seems like a waste of time building it when its already easy to get and will be more reliable then a swapped car. People who accuse STI owners of being snotty do it usually because they cant afford an STI.

Honestly mate, argue in private, not in this thread. The argument was dying, so don't try to revive it.

Edit I'll let it die.

P.S. Subaru swaps are just as reliable as brand new subarus. They are legos 90% of parts or interchangable by design.
