OK ALL! Its a go!

It has to be a Saturday though because I do not want to drive back from MD late and be exhausted the next day for work. I am looking at July 30th right now. Please let me know if that is the same day as some other MAJOR event to where I would loose most of you. Hopefully that works for most. I know some of you work Saturdays and I am really sorry if Saturday's do not work out for you. It is worth scheduling a day for though.

This weekend I will be posting full details with how to sign up, what to bring, where to meet, what time etc..

Thanks for your interest and I do believe this will be a kick ass time.

Craig

With the pics I would be down for just cruising on those roads. Are you talking about racing around or just kinda putt putting around. But if your talking about racing on them then I guess the sway bars just jumped to the top of my list of things to get for my Lincoln!

Def not RACING! Toooo dangerous with 35 cars. There are areas of spirited squirts but SAFETY is a big big priority. I do not want anyone to ruin their day or anyone elses so it will be tempered but definately not boring.

I will say that these are back roads.. if you are overly slammed and mostly for looks, these may not be the greatest roads for some of you.. I am talking about those that are street sweeper low..

For any rare areas that have a noticable rough spot there will be a warning broadcast over Motorola talk about radios if you have one and also will be on the directions.

But for the record.. these roads are all in good shape. I would not have chosen them if they were badly torn up or rutted out badly.

I am sure you will be fine.

As long as front bumpers have about 5-6 inches from the ground there should be no problem. Next time I do a pre-run I will get some pictures of the roads to ease everyones mind.

The best advise I can give anyone coming is that you have almost 3 months to pick up a motorola talk about.. Its not a requirement by any means but a real good suggestion ..WHY? Because I will announce any dangerous intersections, road debris, or potholes etc over the radio. Plus they are alot of fun when traveling in packs.
They are fairly cheap. I recommend the old school ones like talkabout plus or the talkabout 250. As long as it has primary and sub channel ability. Here is one cheap on ebay.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...98269&rd=1
I belong to two other car clubs and we use them all the time on runs. If this is a success I have other runs to do so they will come in handy..

Sorry man.. Ulitmately its up to you. Next time I am down doing another dry run.. I will snap a bunch of pics of the roads so people get a better idea. Make your ultimate final decision then.

I dont want people to get the wrong idea here... These roads are all paved and all pretty darn smooth. I am 98% sure that most all of you will have no problem.. Its only those that are SUPER SLAMMED that I am concerned about. If you scoop up dead animals with your front spoiler then this run is not for you.. From what I could tell by being at RR several times.. 95% of you will be more then fine..

I am not worried about ground clearance anymore.

Definately sounds like a good time. I don't like Talkabouts, but they do come in handy. Maybe I'll get a handsfree for mine.

Heh.. just turn it on and set it down so you can hear stuff. I have a hands free for mine and you just have to be careful not to be on vox by accident.. then people hear you singing or something :thumbdow:

Anyhow.. I wanna know how the heck you did that.. Looks like a parking accident.

I need a vox thing for my talkabout...

I'd appreciate it if we could do this thing in July... I do not have any weekends free in June (family business' busiest month)

There's the scoop.
Back on topic, I don't like having to pick up the talkabout to talk. That's why I have my navigator do it.
July 30th sounds good to me.
