What kind of benefits do you get from your job?

Not talking about salary here, but I guess everything else that comes along with your job. Honestly its all pretty new to me so I'm excited to have benefits at all, no idea if they're really any good or not.

I have pretty comprehensive medical, dental, life insurance, and long term disability, and it costs about $60 pre-tax from my paycheck every two weeks.

For working here less than 5 years, I get 2 weeks vacation a year, plus 7 holiday days per year. Sick days are not limited, but are also not to be abused.

They have a 401k that you can put up to 15% of your paycheck into, they will match up to 4% at 50 cents on the dollar.

They just froze all the pensions, but that really doesnt affect me much at this point being a new employee. It did piss off a lot of other people though.

I also have a TV, which is awesome when I work nights. And free reign on the internet of course. And my boss is very cool. Not sure if those things are official benefits though.

Yup, so some of you probably have way better benefits than I do, but hell, this time last year I didnt have any!

Bryan

All of my benefits come from my parents because I am still a full-time student. I know full-time people here get dental, medical, and all that stuff, but not me since I am part-time! lol

As far as perks for my job I get:

~6hrs of paid time off every pay period, which adds up to 12 hrs per month. After 2 years employement that raises, which included me because I have been here for almost 3 years.

~Shared success pay at the end of the year, which is generally 3 weeks paycheck giving to you on top of your pay.

~$500-$1,000 employee referrals

~Full tuition reimbursment for full-time, part time recieves up to $5,000 per year in their first year employment, which again my balanace is now increased due to the fact that I have been here for 3 years.

~paid sick days

~1 free trip per year called a fam trip, familiarization trip to be exact. You get a list of trips to choose from, pretty much anywhere you can desire. You recieve that after 1 year of employement in Travel, which I have just completed.

~There are certain vehicle companies, I believe GM which we recive the benefit of buying cars at dealer cost.

~free AAA premier membership anually, and it renew's itself.

Free Medical, Dental, Vision, Life. 3 weeks paid vacation begining of the year. 50%401K match up to 6% for 3 years then full. Pretty much golden company. Rated one of the best IT companies for benefits & growth.

Heatlh INsurance (very good dental and decent medical)

company phone

paid 2 weeks vacation (haven't had a vacation for the past and only 3 years I have been here though, looking to take a family (boss ;) ) paid for vacation out to vegas in april)

A healthy X-mas bonus. I really understand how people rely on these, each year, they have been a blessing in disguise. Even though it all goes back to gifts, it means I basically have a free x-mas. it helps, and I REALLY appreciate it

Side job referrals (it's good money on the side untill I can talk the old man in to a % position. they are usually crappy jobs, but money is money when you are saving to build a dream home as first home)

And the one that I REALLY depend on, the "gaurenteed" yearly raise.

That's about it. No 401k, no company car, no company card, no other perks, nothing. I get paid a good amount and I enjoy my job. I was actually offered a job (shhh) with another company, boss doesn't know about it and I declined. The money was actually better and it included health insurance+401k+vacation. I didn't get any other gaurentee's, and quite frankly, I have more opportunity where I am. That's an entirely DIFFERENT beneift. The benefit of taking over the company You can't put these other benefits in the place of that.

I have self employment benefits: rediculous medical insurance premiums, killer high taxes, 4 cold months of sleepless nites wondering how I will pay the mortgage.....etc.

However, I do get to make my own schedule, take insanely long lunches whenever/wherever I want, and laugh at all the rat-race folks that hold real jobs.
