calling all computer people... which one is better (video card)

whats up guys... my laptop went to crap. so im in the market for a new computer. so far i have settled between two. i was going to get one built but these deals seem sound plus i have never built a computer before so id rather get something that i could update later in years to come to learn that way...

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...gybfwBCjCECjCE

vs

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...9&sku=SYX-1042

both are 8gb ram 1 ter memory and i5 processors... but i dont know which video card is better... if its worth the extra 100 to get the nvidia system i will get that.

thx for the input
chris

looking at the specs now... it seems the ATI has diff i5 processor one has the 3.20 dual and one has the 2.66 quad. im guessing the 2.66 is better? it also seems the case itself of the nvidia has more slots

the ati seems to be better on video memory where as it has 1gb and the other nvidia has 896 mb....

still again i dont know how 2 weigh these

thx man... they seem to flip flop n be almost back n 4th on better or not but not by much besides 1 or 2 instances... so u think i should go for the better processor? the ati comes with the i5 650 while the nvidia has the i5 750

I've owned both a 5770 and GTX 260 core 216 (same one as that computer). The Nvidia card is considerably better in my experience. The i5 750 is a much superior CPU.

Here's the correct THG comparison:
Tom's Hardware - Benchmark 2D Power Draw
The one Elliott linked was for the regular 260, not the 216 shader edition.

Building a computer is stupid easy. If you own a phillips head screw driver and played with Legos as a kid, you'll have no problems.

ah, didnt notice that there was another edition.. thanks
been a while since ive played with comp stuff.

i think the times that the nvidia card where better in that comparison was when the game was made for nvidia(i think.)

that chart still shows the ATI being better i think or at least the same.fighting over 5 fps around 95 fps... your not really going to notice a difference imo.

Pretty much... BUT out of those two the Nvidia setup will be faster in games simply because of the CPU
