jdm nissan, looking for bike!

iTrader: (0)
Good first car?

Hey guys, im a little new to the car scene as i just gave up motocross, sold my bikes and now i want to devote everything to this. Ive been lookin at a few cars and i have it narrowed down but i want some opinions.
1) 2006+ mazda rx8
2) 2003+ subaru wrx sti, or mitsubishi evo
3) 2004+ subaru wrx, no wagon
4) 2004+ acura rsx type-s
5) 2004+ golf r32

Miles: less then 70k, on the rx8 less then 35k.
Price: around 15,500, maybe a little more. and less
Mods: Bolt on stuff mainly. nothing crazy, put on by a mechanic with work to back it up, unless owner has experience and can provide what his experience is.

I really want a car that im going to enjoy, but will also be reliable....im willing to any necessary maintenence.

As for that, does anyone have any recommendations or opinions on what i provided.
Please dont trast talk, im new to this I just want to learn and make a wise decision

My preference are RWD cars, so the only one on the list I'd go for is the RX8, though I'd want something with a little more torque, ie 350Z, G35 coupe, C5 Vette. The RX8 has a great suspension, chassis, brakes, and transmission but the power could be a little better.

you wont get much more room in an RX8 than you would in the G or Z. Altho the STi, Evo or Wrx would be good 4 door, 4 seaters.

Also, and this is totally my own opinion and thats all, I wouldn't lean towards an Evo or STi for a FIRST car. THe insurance you will be payin on that (assuming the fact that you haven't had any car history) will be astronomical.

Id say RSX or WRX.

Well, you're not going to find an Evo, STi, or R32 for 15K, and if you do, I would definately stay away from it. WRX or RSX. What about a MINI? It'll outhandle anything out there and it's a blast to drive, and it'll be cheap as hell for insurance.

All of the cars you listed are a lot of car for an inexperianced driver. I would save your money buy somthing nice but cheap as your first car and later on down the road when you havbe some behind the wheel time buy somthing really nice.

i wouldn't say a WRX is good for a first car just because of a fresh driver might want to slam gears and those slightly weak transmissions. "3rd gear"

but imo for a first car get something used, that you can learn to turn wrenches on and can afford to mod and learn from.

IMO you shouldn't own any car if your not willing to turn a wrench on it. But I get what you're saying.......

I know, I could care less though. Everyone on here would most likely agree with me (except maybe the mechanics)

i would say hands down WRX.
good running cars, cheap on insurance then a sti, subaru's last forever, and if you do decide to mod it in the future, you can make a hell of a car out of it.

To which my reply would be......You (insert Lady or Man's surname here) should not even be in possession of a motor vehicle.

Had the RX8 warranty extension been enacted before I bought my car, I would have probably gotten one of those. That's my vote.
