2 questions

Just had 2 questions, both hypothetical but always wondered.

1. If an officer pulls you over and wants to search the car without a warrant of probable cause, are they allowed to do so? Obviously if I smell like liquor it's one thing but can an officer stop me for say loud exhaust, and proceed to search the car without proper permission?

2. In PA and NJ, is it legal to drive without an engine cover (hood)?

hey man i'm just waiting on verification. i'm a pa ofc not a nj one but i have pretty decent knowledge of nj laws. at this point i cannot locate anything on driving w/o a hood so therefore it is legal. i phoned a friend who is a veteran nj ofc and he concurred, but he is going to get a 100% answer for me. i will get back to you as soon as i get an answer for you.

It is not illegal to drive without the hood. My buddy recommended not to drive around w/o one b/c you're just asking to get stopped to ask why you aren't driving with one. save the hassle and drive with one on

Didn't mean to rush ya man, just bumped it so you'd get to it eventually cause I dunno if you saw otherwise. Thanks for the advice, I mainly wanna do it sometimes for cruises in the summer to shows and all, I doubt they would mess with me rolling in a pack of rice.
