Porsche parts always cause sticker shock for me.

Just ordered the shift mechanism that connects the shift lever to the transmission. $1284 for the part.

Would have gotten me a whole transmission with limited slip for a honda.

Thats ther problem with buying cars like that. Hell at one point when I was making some pretty nice $$$$ I was looking at a pretty decientley priced Ferrari Testerossa. That quickley fell through when I saw what it would have been to do oil changes and tune up's. A very wise car guy told me when you buy a car of that magnitude You should have enough money to buy it again, If not you cant afford it.

If you take it easy on a ferrari and drive less then 5000 miles a year you can get by on average spending $5000 a year to maintain it. If you beat the crap out of it thats another story.

Porsches you can beat the crap out of and spend 5 grand a year to maintain.

A guy has a 914 for sale out in front of his house in Allentown, NJ. I passed it today. Kind of funny, I've never even see one before than I post in this thread than see one for sale the next day.

Yeah don't buy it LOL

This is the only 914 for sale in the US that I would buy.

Cars of this quality only come up once or twice a year.

How do most owners feel about that type of engine swap? I would think a car like that most would want to keep it all original.

Ratio it.
Cost of a Porsche: cost to repair
Cost of a Honda: cost to repair

Its all relative.

If I had money like that, Id own them too.

Pretty common.

The 914-6 is rare, modifying it has horrified a few purist. generally people start with a regular 914.
