i have a 2004 dodge ram hemi gtx edition, my goal is to get my truck runnin 12's n/a alot of people dont think im going to get it done, but i think i will so far i only had a cold air intake,exhaust & diablo sports preditor tuner & ran 14.6 @ 92mph on street tires.


do you guys think i could get my truck into 12's?


my plans are to do a heads-cam package full exhaust & 3000 stall speed lower gears & drag radials

How do the hemis like nitrous? Probably be alot cheaper.

depends, some truck LOVE it others dont, some stock motors dont like anything more then 100 shot some love the 150's.nitrious is funny in the trucks from what i have read on some forums. i do plan on some nitrious down the road to break a heavy ass 5000lbs truck into 11's

as of right now, she's just all show & no go hopefully that will change soon

Find lighter wheels, your gonna need to get cams, probably head work, headers will really open that thing up....what else can i think of, injectors would be a nice touch prob a step colder plugs...i would lower it a bit more to help with handling, cam i would use the comp 260 xfi cam

the mods i currently have are cold air intake, catback exhaust, diablo preditor tuner, shorty headers(which suck ballz) & thats about it for performance,

from what i have read, long tube headers are a must but they make the motor run a little lean so you need to get a diablo preditor or a sct tuner & bump up fuel, i do plan on doing a bigger cam then the 260, the 260's are great came for the quad cab because of the great low end tq they have, i am doing a bit bigger cam, i am thinkin of buying big valve heads or just sending my heads out to p&p, the stock injectors run good with cams the 6.1L injetors are a bitch to tune, ported throttle body has been proven to pick up 2/10ths at the track, a bfi inatke (proved another 2/10ths at the track), 2800 -3000 stall & some 410 gears , i hope all that work can break my truck into the 12's


i have a set of 17'' rims sittin at my house im throwing some drag radials on the back and somethin real small upfront, my heavy ass 20's kill me at the track.what sucks is im going to dump a crap load of money into my truck to keep up with bolt on camaro's & mustangs lol

awd turbo mazda from factory.....was the car they used to compete in WRC with (all wrc cars have to be a production vehicle)

I would start looking to make it a 6.1L hemi then get heads/cam. Hell it took the srt10 ram 510hp to get mid 13's with

very true, the srt-10's weight more, they are sticks, a body kit,and 22's if they dropped the body kit & threw some 17's with drag radials on there the srt-10's would be low low 13's. i wish i had the money to build a 426 stroker, im only 18 & i work 2 part time jobs to pay for my truck, i am just gonna leave the bottom end stock for now, & do a heads/cam package & see where that get's me .


down the road i plan on doin a 6.1 block punched out to a 426

Ever think about turbo or supercharging this truck?? I only ask because i have gotten my ass handed to me by a older guy in a truck similar to yours with a vortech on it...

As per punching the 6.1L out i think there is better options i mean there is plenty of REMOTE turbo setups that have proven to make awesome power throughout the powerband

i have, i would love to break 12's n/a because thats hard as hell to do in a truck, maybe with some special sauce, a 426 stroker & a turbo or supercharger i can get 10's but that wont be for a while....

why not twin charge it? supercharger for off the line and to spool the ridiculously huge turbo lol

well im going to start off with lowering the truck even more. currently im runnin a 2/4 drop (2 in the front 4 in the rear) im doin a 4/6 drop within a month then im gonna start on motor work

well here's an update

added a different roll pan

pick up some new wheels ( they are just 06-08 dodge ram stockers) painted them black. went down in tire size to a 275/45r 20 tire so i can go lower

i dropped the ass end another inch to make it sit level

also picked up a srt-10 front bumper for free. traded a guy my bumper cover for that one

and added bottle into the mix :D(dont have any photo's of that yet)
