I'm not sure you pose anywhere close to enough reasons to make the switch.

Is your WRX falling apart?

Does it suck on mileage/highway?

Other than a "change" what presents itself for the new drastic spend in money?

MS3s are great cars. But for around here u should stay with ur awd scoob the ms3 would be useless in the snow being a powerful fwd car and all.

I mean obviously u know how good the ms3 is. But if ur running 350awhp right now uve put alot of money time and effort into the subie. Keep it. And spend just a bit more money and do an sti tranny swap.

Get a roof rack if u really need more room lol

Hey, trade?

I have all-seasons for the winter and it's been ok so far. Nothing beats AWD but we rarely get snow. This is an alright car if you don't mind FWD.

Good questions, I'll explain why the change.

The car looks perfect, if you saw it you would think it was stock except for the slightly lowered look and FMIC. I'd just like to lower my car payments and get into a car with nicer interior along with more trunk space. Mileage is great, the FP Green "off-boost" actually get more mileage than the TD04. In boost is a different story. Also to redo the suspension to make it more comfortable / tuned would cost me a bundle. At this point I don't need a 350+ whp car just to drive the work. I'd like to sell it to a Scooby person looking for a turn key Stg4 car so they can enjoy it fully.

That's the thing, I don't want to spend anymore money. I'm at the point where the mods are not cheap, they're big money mods. Sure an STI DCCD 6MT would be nice, but the thousands to get everything together just too much. True I invested $$$ into the car, but we all do it for our enjoyment knowing that money will never been seen again.

As for the snow thing, what are you guy's running? When I had my SRT-4 with a 16G onboard, I used Blizzacks when I lived in Chester Co. I miss that car, Ray @ TT helped get that car real quick.

Okay, I am a Ford faboi I suppose... Love the MS3, MS6, anything MS mazda puts out.... would die for a ms3!

The only sane reason I could see here is you'd like a hatch over a sedan..... Scoob's come in a hatch.

They come in a hatch and I'm going to invoke the wrath of the Subaru Gods for this but damn are they ugly. I like the new STI to some degree but not for 36K. Out of the hatches on the market, Subaru needs to do a little more R&D.

On a sidenote, I would kill for a UK Spec Focus RS. Now that is a sweet ride!

Well honestly your car sounds nice. Are you sure you could lower your payments?

I picked MS3 over WRX becuase of what you got for the money- more options, Blose Stereo, Leather, Xenons, etc., and a much more exciting drive. I knew I wasn't going to be able to build a show or race car w/$10k- if I was doing that obviously you would want a platform that could better support it (like Subaru AWD).

At first I thought the MS3 was gay but after I test drove it I fell in love. As for the snow- obviously nothing is like a Subaru, but I went to 7-11 in that snowstorm and made it home ok lol. How about we trade for the day and you can think about it?

When I go to purchase my next car, I'm coming in with money down and the fact that most 2007 - 2008 MS3 I've seen are below 18K with alot of wiggle room to haggle it down. Ironically the MS3 I've seen on the lots were traded in for WRXs or EVOs. I guess we all stick to the same types of cars.

With a good set of snow tires, you can get through almost any winter weather in a FWD or RWD car. I've driven in snow storms where the trucks and cars with AWD and all season tires were sliding all over the place and my RWD car with snow tires just kept going. I work hours when the streets usually aren't plowed, but I still need to get to work. 2WD and snow tires has worked fine for me for quite a few years. Sure an AWD car with snow tires would be better, but for msot people snow tires work just fine on 2WD vehicles.

I'm a crackhead, I really like the old bug eye wagons over the more squared ones. And I really don't like the styling of the new STI, and I love hatches and wagons. Not saying I wouldn't drive one, cosmetics aren't everything.

2011/12 Focus will be debuted next week at the Detroit Auto Show... There have been a handful of RS mules running the streets around Michigan for a year or so... It's confirmed to get the ecoboot in the US. I'm holding out to make a new purchase, although if it doesn't come in a wagon they have lost me interest.

If you plan on leaving the car completely stock, I guess the MS3 may be a nicer choice.... (Did I type that?) But if you plan on modding it, you will be much better off with the Scoob.... just my humble opinion. Best of luck choosing though.

Look for a WRX wagon.
The right dealer will let you swap the parts if you cam find a wagon in your price range.
There's a reason MS3s are soooo inexpensive after a few years. Lesser cars depreciate faster.
I KNOW they're a bit quicker (quite quicker depending on if it's an 08 or older WRX) but the long term quality just isn't there.
I've lost quite a few MS3 for WRX sales because the MS3 owners can't get over how much their hatch depreciated.
Keep your car or look for wagon to swap everything over.
The work will pay off in the end.

Pennsylvania is Scooby country thanks to our little valleys and mountains that litter the NE extension. What your stated is all 100% on the money, but I'd like to go back to FWD for a bit also. This is my 2nd WRX, I had an 2004 (Blew the rod on Cyl #1) and now I have my 2006. It's a great car and has never let me down. The other issue which I failed to mention is that my 06 is all about power and speed. Think of it like a "poor man's Supra" in the respect that it's has gobs of midrange / topend power. Now the poor side is that it being a "Tuner Ready" version, it lacks all of the nice items an MS3 has. True I could drop in a full suspension, NAV, Improved seating, STI 6MT, etc....it would be cheaper just to purchase another car with it all done.

Like the person above you stated, I'd really like to just buy an MS3 and keep it stock aside from an AP, Cobb Intake and Inlet. I know the MS3 is going to drop in price, but it's my work car. Driving a 350whp car 15 mins to work everyday is really a sin.
