S2k retrofit install complete

Well i got my retrofit installed yesterday. here are a few quick pictures.

I have never tried to take pictures at night, and i was in a hurry, so the pics are not that great.

Old

New

Off with the bumper

Gave a quick was to make sure there were no leaks

Good to go

Cut off from about 10ft away

Ill take a better cutoff pic from further away when i have some time. this was all just a quick driveway shoot after i was done.

thanks guys. i was thinking of trying to make them on my own, but i bought the housings with projectors in them already. A guy from HID Planet made them. It was cheaper and quicker that way. Working full time with a girlfriend that likes to hangout leaves little time.

The rest was my own doing, as far piecing together ballasts/ignitors, bulbs, and harnesses. All told, it came out to $700.

I think i may have to lower the passenger side a little, but i kinda like the dual step-up cutoff line. Its almost hypnotising watching it at night, lol. No one has flashed their highbeams at me yet either.

I Highly recommend a quality retrofit to anyone who has old halogens lights. Visability is amazing and with these projectors, very WIDE!

looks good. Makes me miss my old tsx setup. s2k projectors are easily the best to retrofit with, a little more expensive but the best.

I like this one thing i loved about my s2k at night was the perfect skirt of bright light in painted in my fov. My kouki sucks I have brighter bulbs and i still don't have the same effect. I dont know if i need to get an hid steup and then work with the aiming, maybe that will be better.

I've thought about buying aftermarket lights that already house the "Projectors" which are really junk, and then retrofitting a set of S2K or TSX projectors in there. Its a lot of money though that I don't need to spend right now.

The pass side is higher so you can read signs and stuff like that also JDM projectors are the other way around hence RHD

thanks.

i tried to take a night picture against a white wall the other night, from outside the car, but failed miserably. It woulda looked so sweet though.

I guess there wasnt enough light, and i dont know enough about the manual mode on the camera to get it to shoot in that kinda light. the F kept blinking 00 in the viewer. Any one know how to get a D80 to take a good picture in the dark?
