WTF m8!

Ok I was doing a gear oil change today. I pulled the drain plug and this was stuck to it. Any clue as to what it is? side note is I have no reverse lights since I did the swap. Think this is some kind of retention clip for something in the trans? It's not broken off of anything and has a small dent (probably hitting a gear) I'm ver worried about this.

You picked the right part... unfortunately this means one of your synchros is probably gonna have a short lifespan.

If you are gonna tear the trans open, replace the whole synchro, or better yet upgrade

Shouldn't affect your reverse lights though. Might be a problem in the cluster?

Are you using a WRX ECU with the stock RS cluster? Sometimes there are circuits that run through the cluster for stupid reasons. If they worked before the swap and arent' now, it is more than likely a wiring issue.
Still using the stock RS trans right?
