Was on my way home from the Firing Line in Whitehall yesterday afternoon and spotted this Fiesta heading south on 145. I don't really follow Ford, but if I'm not mistaken these aren't up for sale yet. It was still rocking Michigan tags and fiestamovement decals . . . figured someone on here may be interested. Anyone know the specs on it?

I'm more than well aware of the "Spotted" section, however, considering it's a brand new car the general car related chat section is more appropriate, thanks anyway.

Hmm, bummer. My one coworker has sworn up and down for the last 2 months he's trading his Focus in on a Fiesta when it comes out, lol. I'm curious what the specs are for it.

It's a manufacturer's plate, so it's probably a test mule or they're running around to see what the interest is in the car. I heard a rumor that when Ford puts its Ecoboost line of motors into production in a couple years, they may put a 1.6T in that little guy with 200 or so horses. Ford is also looking at making a TDI Fiesta. That'd be a quick Fiesta, lol.

I saw that Fiesta at Carmike on Sunday night. I remember it from the fiesta movement sticker I just didnt think their was anything special to it so I just walked by.

The hatch is about as big as a Yaris, and they are debuting with a 1.6 at about 100-115hp iirc. I wanted to replace the Focus with one 2 kids ago. Now I'll just stare as Ford hopefully does a small car right.

If they could bring some of the engine options they have in SAmerica and Europe to the states I think it could really take off. You can get anything from a 1.3 economy car or a turbocharged 2.0 or 2.3 that produces close to 300hp, they also offer a few diesel options depending where your at. But US regs will destroy most our options, so typical.

There are 100 Euro-Spec Fiesta on US roads now that Ford is test-muling prior to their 2010 launch (MY2011). I've seen a red fiesta in the Fishtown section sporting the same fiestamovement sticker.

If you go to the fiestamovement.com website under build your own, Ford is listening to US consumers on what they would like to see for their debut US model. I for one would love to see a turbo version as an option. Among the opinion polled, a turbo option is at the top of the list.

if they offered a turbo version i'd actually consider one over a mustang...

eidt: did the whole build your own... and turbo kit comes in at 43% followed by the sony audio system. performance tuned suspension at 38%... we could get a cool little svt fiesta...

There will be three competing in the rally part of the XGames this year. No idea if they are going to be AWD or turbo'd... but it will be neat to see them competing.

from what i understand from what a ford sales man told me was that ford is going to be bringing over a bunch of euro and austrailian based cars to the us. one that im hopeing and so is the salesman is the Falcon, and another is the truck (think ranchero)
