what to do when you cant drift your car and your stuck at home...VID UP!!

so ive been bored and cant do too much with the 240 since im still waiting on an engine. so i look outside like 4 days ago and see the gokart which i havnt driven in a while. idea comes into my head to make up for the fact the 240 isnt running. drove it around then decided to have more fun. made up a little course for me to practice on and if anyone has driven a gokart before you know they have those annoying belt driven clutches. after a day of drifting the gokart around i snapped the brake band and now have absolutely no braking method other then turning it off and hoping i dont run something over(i ordered 3 extra sets of bands). also bent the tie rod then fixed it and broke it completely, sheared off one of the bolts on the muffler(idk how), after the muffler bolt went it was shaking like crazy so several welds broke and some screws fell out and the rollcage is now held together with duct tape.

well heres the damage of the yard and most of the track layout:

^3-4 inches from falling into the side of the fire pit, maybe a foot or so from the pool

i can draw lines on the tracks of where i go if its confusing but for now i figure those pictures would do.

i would say not too bad for drifting a 6 hp, brakeless, gokart thats held together with duct tape.(just adjusted a few things on the gokart like tire pressure, camber up front, and the tie rod ends to adjust the steering angle cause it sucked before) when i can get a video of it up ill post it

let me know what you think of it pics of the gokart will be up in like 2 min.

its a blast lol
figured it would be a good way to practice i just need to figure out how to get it to work in winter since the cold weather makes the oil thick.

heres the gokart:

you can see the passenger wheel has a little more camber to it but with a driver in it it sits perfectly

have to do a little more tuning with the steering but for now it seems good. i just wish there was more weight up front

the duct tape that has saved our lives in 4(maybe 5) roll overs except my friend broke his arm last time it was rolled over the main reason it was sitting for a while haha

Haha nice. For more weight upfront, you have any type of weights to strap on there?

i have a bunch of plates ranging from 2.5-25lbs and a set of 30lb dumbells
just wasnt sure if that would be safe to have on there. i could always use the plates and drill a hole in the center piece between the 2 arms and stick a bolt through the center of the plate.

yea im considering doing that cause i want the weight balance to be a little bit better. right now it has a hard time with the front end gripping. i also just snagged a disc brake setup of my buddies old dirtbike so im gonna make a handbrake setup out of that haha. this shall be fun and probably dangerous too... but still fun

well i was doing a little more before and snapped the belt... great...
heres the result:

ordering 2 more belts just in case. this gives me time to replace the brakes which are a huge pain in the ass.

ill get a video of it once its back up and driving. ill be sure to mount the camera at several different angles =]
