What are Challengers going for?

I am interested in a 2009 SRT8 Dodge Challenger with a 6-Speed Manual Transmission. Anyone got any leads? Any idea what people are paying? I will never pay sticker price for most cars, but I want to know what they are going for now.

now might not be the time.

Chrysler is hoping to get out of warranty claims post chapter 11 for vehicles sold during their time in bankruptcy.

meaning, you buy a car now.. 6 months down the road, or whenever Chrysler finishes the restructure and can pull out of chapter 11 you could be ****ed.

apparently its a legitimate option they have. Though, obviously, they are being instructed not to take that path due to the probable further decline in sales and company trust of this action.

Um, as for your actual question... the last srt-8 i saw had a tag of around 38-40k and i was told dealerships aren't budging. I'd also assume that most dealerships aren't going to be bringing those "large ticket" cars unless they've got a guaranteed buyer.

let me know what you find out if you get one, they're freaking sweet cars

I say go for it. hell you can probly get it for a dollar or two. look at it this way. you get a good deal now, and ur way ahead of the game so it aint that big a deal if u get jerked by the warranty. Does he want the car or not, thats the real question. And for now, Big daddy Barrack will have his back on the warranty.

I have read quite the opposite. The only mustang they compare it to that beats it is the Shelby. And honestly he does not care as much about the performance compared to a mustang because the styling is 1000x better.

I've seen the articles you're talking about. It's true. Challenger is way too heavy and handling sucks.

i wouldnt call this a catastrophe...it happens and its only 300 cars

GM said today it is recalling about 300 new Camaros for a battery cable that might rub against the starter motor, wearing out insulation and possibly prevent the car from running, or starting. In extreme cases, the company says, it could cause a fire -- though none have been reported.

I believe the starter harness chafes and shorts out. But if there is already one recall just imagine how the rest of the car was built. Imo I wouldn't buy a Chevy or Chrysler right now.

Btw they compaired the mustang Gt to the Camaro and srt8, not the Shelby.

Exactly...

And how is the new camaro terrible? Whats so wrong with it, i personally think the styling, and the interior was way better. Plus get the SS with a nice motor and trans package

"
The top-level SS is motivated by a 6.2-liter V8. When coupled with the six-speed automatic transmission, the SS is good for 400 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque, while opting for the manual gearbox will net an additional 22 horsepower, for a grand total of 422 horsepower and 408 lb-ft of torque. The V8-powered car will return about 23 mpg on the highway.

Other SS goodies include four-piston Brembo brakes, a sportier FE3 suspension and Competitive/Sport modes for the car's StabiliTrak stability control system, including launch control for manual SS models."

Now think what a more open exhaust, Intake would do with this car. Power gains would/should be decent

Well at least they don't have crank walk issues.
