recommend me an ND filter in 82mm

Hey guys - really want to pick up an ND filter for my new 16 to 35. Id like a pretty dark one to get some real long exposure day pics. Any suggestions?

3 stop or 6 stop really... depends how much light you want to cut out.
i ordered a 10 stop 77mm... and that was a mistake. my math was off i guess but its pretty ridiculous. i havent really used it at all and would love to swap it for a 6 stop.

as for where to buy, i've heard good reviews about http://maxsaver.net/ and was about to place an order for some UVs and a CPL from them... pretty good savings.

Since I'm in the same boat what would be a good ND filter if I want to use flashes as during the day? Would a 6 be strong enough to drop my shutter speed down to a max of 1/250th?

you just gotta do the math to see what will work best for what you're trying to do... its easy enough.

I was at NYCV again and I decided to grab the 580EX II flash for now. I want to buy a CP and a ND, but the prices Troll sent me to at the site above are cheap cheap cheap compared to NYCV filters. I grabbed the 580 flash and loving it!

i have the b+w 6 stop, 10 stop, and cpl filters and they are all great. a 3 stop would probably be enough and when u get up to the 6 its hard to see through unless u have a fast lens and with the 10 stop its basically impossible to see through while its on the lens so you have to focus first then put it on. if you do the math like troll said u can figure out which one will work best for what you need

I use a B+W110ND which is a 10 stop neutral density filter. It's a bit of a hassle because you have to focus and set up your shot before you put the filter on, but it's no big deal really. I pretty much got this filter so I could take super long exposures during the day.

Here are some shots I took with it. All of these were also stacked with a CP filter:
