How do people save money & still fuel their car toy desi

Just wondering how some other people are doing with saving money and working on their car at the same time... I am finding it very difficult to do.

I keep telling myself just spread it out, but as i'm making my list of the fuel upgrades and the right gauges I need to do proper tuning... its hard not just blow the $$$ right away...

I am going to pace myself... i'm going to try to put a % of dough in a bucket and use that bucket for car parts... we'll see how that goes

how do YOU save?

Save??
Can you define that for me? I'm not quite getting it ;)

I live pretty much paycheck to paycheck. The only thing I've saved for so far is my built block. I just forced myself to take out a specified amount from each paycheck and live w/what I had left until I had enough to pay for it. That was only for half the cost though.

Being into cars is tough. Especially, if you're still in school. I know w/my last car every time I'd be about to upgrade something huge classes would come along and I'd have to drop $800 on these lame things called "books." I have one credit card that I really keep on top of too. I try not to hold any balance and only spend the $$ I have.

I think if you really try to budget all your spending you can do a lot better. I nickel and dime myself to death throughout the week for food, gas, etc.

Just about all of my mods came before I had my son and bought my house. Now I save for other things. I rarely spend money to mod my car now.

What mean this term "save money." I am not familiar with it. Is it like pizza? Because I like pizza.

I can answer that one for ya. The STi build-up doesn't fit in w/that plan. I talk to so many guys that are soooo sad cuz they have to sell their dream cars and what not in order to finance a wedding, house, etc.. I was talking to a guy the other week at some family function for my girlfriends' friend. The guy has a MINT Super Bee that he now has to sell in order to pay for his wedding and all that. To hell w/that I say. Another reason you shouldn't get married or anything until AT LEAST 30.

instead of making a new one im bringing this back from the dead....

im 22, i live with my girlfriend and im having a son in september. i make a decent steady paycheck and so does my girl. it is impossible for me to save money. the most i can save for seems like 6 days, after 6 days no matter what i blow all my money usually. how can i curb this? what do you guys do to keep money in your pocket. i mean im bad, ill not eat at home for breakfast just to go spend money at manhattan bagel.

I have no money saved. I just make sure I can eat, pay bills, and have a little just in case. Everything else goes to the car.
