Stupid Cadillac owner claiming to beat a WRX

So I'm in this Cadillac forum and then this tart comes in and posts this

I was driving home from the girlfriend's house the other night, as I always am when I race, and I saw a silver WRX pull around a corner really fast, and floor it out of the turn. I followed, and figured I would probably get a run out of him.

I caught up to him easily, and followed him at about 15 over the speed limit, then decided to get a run. I floored it, got in the other lane. He hit it as well, turbo spooling , loud exhaust. I slowly gained inches, and then feet on him. I started about 2 carlengths behind him, and ended up about 1 car length ahead by 75. (in a 40 zone of course...with no traffic).

I gave a thumbs up as he turned off the road, and didn't see what I got back, because he had really dark tint.

I was VERY surprised with the result, I had always thought the turbo boxer engine in that smaller car would destroy my caddy. Guess I owe my ol' boat an apology

And to top it off he has a 1994 Cadillac Deville with the 4.9 V8!

No way did that happen. My friend mike has the same engine in his cadillac and its not that fast. The whole time you had me thinking it was a CTS-V.

You never know what coulda happened. I mean the wrx coulda been stock which the puts the car at a low 14, or mid 14 with a good driver. Also the cadiallac kid states it was when they were already moving, thus being the subies weak point having its launch taken away. Im not saying it did happen, but have a little imagination. I mean subie guys, how many time do we see kids in stick sti's not break 14's. With that said I beilieve you will agree with me.

I agree. Stranger things have happened. Usually around the Bermuda Triangle, though, lol.

Still, I'm more inclined to believe the suby guy wasn't trying at all. I've done similar things in the past. Like racing a Septa bus in 5th gear from a 5mph roll, lol.

Updated! But all I told the guy was that even if the guy in the WRX was racing he had no clue as to what he was doing and that he beat the driver not the car

Well if it was a newer deville or anything with the northstar motor that could be a race Someone i know has exhaust, a custom intake and they are in the 13's all day

that 4.9 is only a 200hp engine, i find it hard to believe unless the wrx kid couldn't drive. maybe if it was a fiero with a 4.9 swap http://fieroaddiction.com/caddy49a.html

I dunno what you WRX guys are talking about, your cars are flat out crap from a roll. All your strength is in the launch. Now a Caddy beating you, that is a stretch.

And a CTS-V could rape the hell out of a WRX. Or an Evo. Or an old Corvette. Come to think of it, they're damn fast.

I believe for a couple reasons

1.) The caddy driver got a run on the WRX, probably had a good 10 mph or so before the WRX even knew it was being raced.
2.) WRX's aren't that special from a roll, the powerband isn't that broad or strong
3.) Chevy v8's are awesome from a roll, lots of torque means broad power. Where WRX peaks at 227 hp, the chevy makes 200 across a broad range, and it's geared to take advantage of this.
4.) Chevy is known to be conservative with it's power ratings.

This reminds of the time I said I beat a stock STi from a roll and half of you said yeah that could happen and the other half said BS, it was a WRX with sti badges on it.

Broad power takes peaky power from a roll.

Um probably not there girl! Why dont u find me a cadiallac cts-v that would beat my wrx! Im down for that. As for a roll, we are not crap, we are just at a disadvantage, but im sure any wrx with any person in it could beat your SATURN!

not to be a dick but, cts-v's are pretty quick stock. I am sure there several modded ones out there. Just remember no matter how fast you are there is always someone faster. never say never

True. But how many modded cts-v's are out there. Its just not a car people often mod. Its fast from the dealer, thats basically it. I highly doubt runs a 12.6 or better from the dealer, so I dont need to worry about it.

for some reason this makes me remember the story of the turboed ford escort wanting to race someone and they laughed at him. Seriously you have to actually think that there are people with other passions to put **** in different cars. You never know, this kid could have done some stuff to his cadillac. But from my perception that is very realistic.
