NJ...... pulled over and was asked some weird questions....

ok, i was recently pulled over cause i didnt have my plate mounted on the front bumper. the cop that stopped me said it wasnt visible cause i had it sitting on the dash and windshield. i just moved over to NJ from PA and in PA we are not required to put the plate on the front bumper. now, keep in mind i just left the DMV from getting my car inspected and the cop said and i quote "you just got your car inspected, how come they didnt reject your car?" i said, "you're asking me? i just moved from PA and we arent required to have the plate mounted in the front of the car. i am on my way home to mount it." he then asks me for my license, registration, and insurance. i gave it to him and before he goes back to his car he asks me "have you ever been arrested? and when was the last time you got pulled over?" i have never been arrested nor have i been in any type of trouble with the law.

my question to the officers on board is... are these standard questions that are asked at a traffic stop? or was he profiling me? mind you, i am asian but i look hispanic to a certain degree and the cop that pulled me over was asian too.

i even showed him the inspection report from the DMV and he still wrote me up a $50 ticket. i asked him, "can you just let me off with a warning cause i am on my way home to fix this?" he says, "i cant per my sgt's orders to write up the ticket." then i ask, "can i dispute this ticket cause obviously i am not at fault. had the DMV rejected my car, i would have attempted to fix it right then and there." he said, "yeah you can dispute the ticket just goto court and i will dismiss the ticket."

my friends brother is a officer in los angeles and he told her that cops force the court issue for OVERTIME. is this the case? cause the cop told me that if i showed up in court on the given date, he would dismiss it.

I fixed your post

If you want to ask me something, ask the question and put in any information that pertains to the story, I could care less about the rest of it

It is your right to plead not guilty, we do not force the choice for you

I'm not sure an officer in California is an expert on what the payment setup is for an officer in NJ, just as I am not

Maybe he was telling the truth and his Sergeant made him write the ticket but he didn't agree with the ticket therefore he said make the court date so he can let you off it therefore helping you out, ever think of that?

Those questions are perfectly acceptable I fail to see the reason they cause you concern
