formula Vee

So being bored on the internet I found out about formula vee. It seems relatively cheap to get in to, does anybody here know when and where they race, everything I found pointed to scca but I couldn't find much on the scca site other than the runoffs.

formula vee's are slow, and have drum brakes

formula 500 are way better, disc brakes, weigh less, sled engine

but then again I have one and so does my brother

It really depends on the car and what spears come with it. We paid $2200 for ours but it came in boxes, we have about another $1500 into it. It really depends on the car, extra parts, and history with regards to the price.

this is were most post on for f500

well I just got the idea of putting a subie boxer engine into one of those cars, granted it's a pipe dream right now but does anybody know how much a wrx with intercooler weighs?

I drove an older F500 car, maybe it even had a engine in the 400 range.. regardless it was a LOT of fun, and I was 2nd FTD at the autocross event. However it just seemed "different", meaning I was always so used to autocrossing a street car, and it almost felt like I was doing something different during the day because of how different the car was. Hard to explain, but it wasn't "different" in a bad way at all.

One other good thing about them is you can do autocrosses, track days / road racing, and even hill climbs (provided the cage is up to spec and some other things). For the money they are great, but as you are more than likely are aware you do need to trailer it every where but they are small enough and light enough that you can tow them with a car. The guy who owned the one I drove towed it with a Ford Taurus.
