B2 stealth bomber

had no idea this happened, it was awhile ago too, i wonder what went wrong, this was the 2nd one that i know of that crashed, 2.2 billion dollars....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZCp5h1gK2Q

apparently this is what happened
The crash was caused by moisture in the air-data pressure sensors - a known problem, with a known fix that was never written down

pretty simple stuff to fix i bet too

looks like he started turning the plane before the wing had enough distance from the ground... looks like pilot error.

Thats weird I just saw that on the Discovery channel a day or two ago. It wasn't pilot error it was a malfunction with something in the plane... I forget what though. They cost $1.4B each if I remember correctly. Goddamn...

someone said it kicked into autopilot mode, i dont think anyone with the qualifications for operating a B-2 could ever make the mistake of try to take off before gaining enough speed.

someone said this

The crash was caused by moisture in the air-data pressure sensors - a known problem, with a known fix that was never written down.

im guessing that kicked it into autopilot mode?

here is from wiki
The total program cost, which includes development, engineering, and testing, averaged US$2.1 billion per aircraft.

In February 2008, a B-2 crashed for the first time ever during Air Force operations, resulting in a loss of US$1.4 billion.[4]

there is some interesting things about it, like toilets

no one is perfect... not even a 1.4billion dollar death machine

errors occur. i doubt we'll ever know the real story behind the crash

read my post, i don't believe everything reporters report ;)

please cite valid source for moisture being a "known problem, with a known fix that was never written down"

i'm sayin', just because someone says something, doesn't mean it is true... even if its a government official

i seriously doubt its human error, people who fly those planes probably never made a mistake in their lives. i doubt many private pilots make mistakes like that.

Being a strategic analyst for the government has it's benefits, doncha think?

I'm not a guru but I have to know their payload and capabilities. My point was there are people on here that can't even drive stick and they are criticize'n highly trained airmen.
