Over rated parts

What are the most over rated parts?
Parts that alot of people spend their $ on because they don't understand exactly how or why they work or because of them being over hyped.
I started wondering this after I read the turbo timer thread, a definate misunderstood part.

Avatar was swiped from an old school Mopar board I'm a part of, I have a thing for girls, guns and cars, especially Chargers, but not the new ones they make me vomit.

Good answer on the wires. I've seen people with wires thick enough to carry power from a nuclear plant on a stock motor..... what a waste

And thanks. I'm sure I could think of more...like 19" chrome rims, JUST a muffler tip and no real exhaust work, breather valve with no upgraded intake....

I'm not talking about bling things (19 inch rims, jdm dress up) but functional things people buy thinking they are improving performace.
One guy I know bought 150lb injectors, thats not a type-o 150LBS!
No matter how much tuning he tried with a laptop he could not get it right (how much can you detune an injector that large?)
He switched to I believe 40 lbs and now his car runs great.
By the way if anyone wants 150lb injectors for a chevy 350 I know where you can get some cheap

I know on subarus the stock bov is good for a pretty hefty amount of boost (up to 22psi i believe, give or take a psi). So basically its not needed, its just for bling and psssssst purposes. I have one though, its already on, bought it off criz for cheap, and im just gonna leave it.

True, but it's not really over-rated, as it's an important part to ensure longetivity of the turbo.

Now, BOV noise can be over-rated, but the BOV is a crucial part of any turbo system running double digits. Really, I'd say over 7psi.
