ran my FC at the drag!

Well first time i ever had my FC at the track with out slicks. when i was on slicks my 60 ft was 1.588 and i was on some Federals (drifting tires and they suck on the drag) and here are my times
runs......2nd...........1st
r/t......147.............489
60.....1.967...........2.131
330...5.654...........6.054
1/8....8.683.......... 9.213
MPH...80.94..........79.30
1000..11.272.........11.903
1/4....13.443........14.189
mph....104.14....... 99.12

I was at Island dragway on sunday. a lot of broke cars and a lot of track closing due to oils and busted trannys i only had two runs what do you guys think good for street tires? O and i left my 2 subs and amp in my trunk and all. i figure let me leave the car the way i would drive it everyday on the street
O and before you ask its and lt1 with a custom built t56 t2 rear end racing beat front and rear springs tokico shocks racing beat front sway bar. no rear sway bar but its coming and front tower shock bar. anything else i can do to get my fc to stay in the 12's with slicks?

Doesn't look like a bad run for having a Lt motor under the hood. shame you couldn't afford a lsx or something haha

yeah at the time i didn't have enough money to get an ls1 but now that i think about it i should of done the same thing i did withmy lt1. i got a blown lt1 for 500 bucks and rebuilt it from the bottom up. i should of done the same thing with an ls1. but lets see what i can do i am saving for an ls1 now. all i need is the motor (long block) and i will go from there! wife doesn't know but i just got a $4000 summit card :D
lets not forget this is an rx7 vert all that extra lbs in the trunk with my subs and the lbs from the vert ;)

Geeze... I guess nobody likes LT1's here... they're great motors, although LSx is a superior platform. I run 12's with the Procharger and mid 13's all day before that and my car weighs 4400 lbs. Not sure about the rear end on your car, but what gear ratio do you have? I run 4.10's but its auto, a lot of LT1/T56 guys run 4.56 gears. With the .50 6th gear the car will still be fine on the highway. I'm sure your car is still lighter than a T/A or Z28 and all they really need is a catback or good weather to run 12's.

What series rear do you have?

The rear should be ok. The halfshafts are about the only parts I would worry about in the drivetrain.

Have you replaced all of your bushings? Like the rear subframe, diff mounts, control arms, trans mounts, etc? What kind of shocks and springs are you running in the rear?

Do you get the rear end slap?

im confused.. u say u got a 1.5 60 foot but the 2 runs you list are 1.9 and 2.1 ...??

wheres the 1.5 run?

also 13.4 isnt bad... but i think you have a lot of improvement to make. my buddy was running 13.2 with his full weight lt1 z28. all he had was bolt ons like headers electric waterpump mail order tune... the basics. but then again he does run a built 4l60e with a 2800 stall.

now days hes got a fully built lt1 waiting for boost hasnt run it at the track yet though

BTW your car is sick as **** !! just checked out your 'garage'

I didn't know anything about that. I was just stating the rear was good.

Sorry I missed your post about your suspension.

I don't know what else you can do. I know you can get a 4.3 ring/pinion setup for the rear and I've heard of people getting custom ring/pinion setups from Mazdamotorsports.

the 1.5 was back in march when my buddy let me use his slicks i don't know where i put the slip for that because i moved and a lot of my stuff is still missing! i want to go boost but right now i have no idea what i want to do mostly because they told me back in march i can't race anymore at the track because i broke 12s and i would need a cage being that i am a vert! but i like auto cross a lot so i am going to stick with that. i can tell you i am real close with just using street tires to have to have a cage in my car!

o and thanks for the comment on the car

Yeah everybody hates the Optispark... you ever see the LTCC mod? Its so you can convert to LSx style coils, one of these days I'm doing it.

lets put it like this! if you do the ltcc mod i will pay you to help me do the wiring! I HATE WIRING! thats another reason why i went with the lt1 swap because the wiring harness was WAY easier in the long run. on 6 wires needed to be tapped into. 4 power 2 grounds! the ltcc mod just looks scary!

Replace e town with Atco and you'll be right, I always run quicker at Atco, can't wait to get there in November.
