NJ state police ticketing PA residents?

So I am a PA resident with PA tags. On friday night, at about 1:30 am, I was driving on 287 from rt. 23 towards boonton. There were no other cars on the road, but suddenly a NJ state trooper came up behind me. I was only doing 50 even before I noticed him, so I figure no big deal and keep driving like I was. He comes up along my left side and turns on the side light on his light bar. Note I drive a lifted SUV as a dd, so the light was shining right in my face, I could barely see his car, just the light. He then drops back behind me and pulls me over. Says I shifted towards his lane when he came up beside me. I think, "well no ****, I couldn't see your car, how am I supposed to know how close I am to it??" I told him I was a little tired and I'm just going to my friends house in boonton (next exit 1 mile ahead) and would stay the night there. He says okay and goes back to the car, then gives me a ticket for not maintaining a lane. I'm pretty PO'ed about this, especially since I go to school over 4 hours from there, and can't make it back for the court date. Has this happened to anyone else, I'm assuming he only gave me the ticket because I'm from PA and he knew I wouldn't go to court and fight it. Keep in mind that there were no other cars on the road and he didn't even ask me if I was drinking, which I wasn't anyway.

yes I'm serious. He blinded me with his light, and then told me I moved towards his car. If he had just driven past me it would have been different, but he stayed alongside me for about 10 seconds. Explain to me how that's justifiable, if I couldn't see his car how would I know how close I was to his lane?

I'm not saying what is justifiable and what isn't i'm referring to the fact you actually thought about and posted the comment eluding to the fact he pulled you over simply because you were from PA.

well there must have been a reason for his actions, he obviously targeted me for one reason or another, and he didn't ask me about anything else. Also I wasn't weaving within my lane while he was behind me, if I was that would have been understandable, I know drunk people do that.

I'm sure drifting into his lane was probably the reason he stopped you, whatever happend before or after that I don't know best person to ask is him.
