Ok you Philly peeps, help a brutha out...

I'm going to be going down to Philly this Saturday for the day after picking up my car. I was planning on just hitting up South St. and walking around and hanging out. I'm also considering going across the water and doing the aquarium thing. My question is, what do you Philly residents recommend doing/seeing while I'm down there? Also, any good insider tips on where to grab some good food?

I've been to both South St. and the aquarium in NJ and enjoyed both a lot. But I'm not familiar with Philadelphia otherwise.

PS...where's a good place to park so I don't walk back to my car and see 1/2 of it gone because someone hit it...or worse yet, the whole thing just gone in general. LOL Parking lots, parking garages?

there are parking garages around south street just gotta keep your eye open....but right now south street is so dicked over with construction the road is crap and theres a million people walking 3 inches from your car since they cant use half the sidewalks....its crazy down there right now lol.

theres a parking lot at the end of south street but its hard to find a spot, thats where i usually park if im gonna be more than an hour....

I hope you're saying that because that's where a lot of "healthy, clean, expensive hookers" hang out! HAHAHAHA

If that's not what you meant, should I also post a pic of what I'll be wearing and how much money in what denominations I'll have it in?

Cool. Thanks for the info. I'll definately be looking for the parking garages. Also good to know the road is like **** right now. Which end of South is the garage you're talking about on?

Yeah Red Bull Soap Box in Manayunk that day... from about 10:30am to 4:00pm... definitely going to be a sight to see, but traffic is going to be TERRIBLE.
If you want to check out South Street you can park down by Penn's Landing and walk up, they have lots for like $10 for the day I think and its close enough and easy enough that its worth it. The part of South Street you're probably looking for is like 2nd to 6th, give or take so if you park on the river side (Penns Landing) then you'll be close.

as stated, red bull soap box race is that day in Manayunk. Aside from the Aquarium, they also have the Pirate exhibit at the Franklin Institute if you're into that kind of shyt.

PS- we have no clean hookers heare in Philly..lol You will not find Elliot Spitzer cruising our avenues for ass, thats for sure. Cruise your car down Kensington Avenue and you'll get my point. lol

If you're going to South Street def park by Penn's Landing. I don't know if you really want to go tp the soap box race on your one day in philly since its gonna be pretty wild and packed. Not to mention that manayunk is awful to drive and park in on a normal day. If I wasn't going to be at the race all day I'd tell you to come by my place so I could check out the ka-t especially since my car will be in the city at the same time which is a rare event.

^ I agree. I would definately go to the races if it were someplace like my own town. But I don't think that's what I'm going to do on Saturday.

I'm going to have to Google directions to Penns Landing. That sounds like where I want to park.

I was gonna mention pats or geno's to if you want a true philly cheese steak. Be prepared on how to say it, or you will get looked at kinda awkward.

Pats: http://www.patskingofsteaks.com/
Geno's: http://www.genosteaks.com/
How to order one: http://www.bestcheesesteaks.com/ordering.htm Like I said, make sure you read this very carefully, or you will regret it.

No problem. I heard horror stories on how people tried to order a cheesesteak and they just made them look like idiots, so i'm just giving you a heads up. As far as which one to go to, pats or geno's its a tough call, their both pretty damn good.

there are a ton of stuff to do in philly. the art museum,"rocky steps", south st, pat's or genos, but the best place any foreing tst member needs to do before doing any of those things is come down to our shop. you could sit there and watch rich, reese, nando, and myself curse each other out for hour. of course the occasional wrestling match battle royal. but yeah let me see if there are any cool places for to see. i assume your bringing the family right.
