Taillight ticket
I got a ticket from a NJ State Policeman for having tint on my taillights. The traffic stop was one of the better one's I've had compared to some of my stupidity-driven earlier days (haven't been pulled over in 3 years). Anyway, I received a ticket 39:3-48 improper visibility of tails. The officer specifically said to me it's not a point ticket and I just have to pay a small fine. I went online to pay the ticket and it said tt is not eligible to pay online. On the ticket itself the "court appearance required" box is not checked, but I just received a court appearance notice in the mail so I'd like to avoid going. I plan on calling the court ahead of time since it said I need to give them my plea before the actual date, but I didn't know if you could give me some info as to why I need to go through all this hassle instead of just paying the fine. Thanks. |

I don't know why you were not able to pay this summons online unless the court that it was issued in doesn't offer it. Best bet is to call or go to the court that it was issued in.

Had to go to court today for the ticket. $36 plus $33 court costs. I would have much rather paid the $36 but sitting there in the courtroom was almost worth the $33. So many DUIs and Speeding tickets...makes me feel fortunate that I don't drink and drive nor do I speed that much (only on the highway a little).
