Ok, so buying a motor off someone isn't looking to be going well. I e-mailed anthony at the JDM Exchange in philly asking if he had any turbo 4g63s for a 1g talon in stock he replied with
"I have a full Lancer Evo AWD swap available"

now does he mean the motor thats in the evo 8s and 9s or is this some other motor? Do these motors come with any warranty? Do they come ready to be put in or do i need other items? Can i put an evo swap in my car?

well, it could mean like a jdm evo III or something crazy like that.

Out of everyone you ask, Anthony at the JDM Exchange will have the most info on the engine.

Evo's are backwards than the 4g63's in Eclipse's and Talon's. The tranny is on the wrong side, and well as the intake manifold facing the wrong way.

I'm sure the swap could be done. But why? Just get another 6 bolt somewere. THey're dirt cheap.

Hes most likely talking about a jdm EVO3, which is a straight swap.

I can back nors up at about Anthony from JDM exchange. Very honest guy.

I would also strongly recommend Chris Oliver from street solutions, he knows a LOT about all of his clips. He won't feed you BS about mileage either. I think he should be getting a container sometime soon and maybe an Evo3 will be in there if you ask

ok, i'll contact street solutions. 6-bolts are hard to find i've found (atleast with my luck) i've been searching for a few months and still dont have a motor : /. Put adds on dsmtuners on here dsmtalk dsmclub etc even told all my friends and lots of people at shows and still nothing. i mean ive gotten replies from people with so nice built motors but when i ask for documentation i never hear from them again...hmmmm

But they issue that lies on hand is pricing. Is it worth it to spend 1500.00 on a stock JDM motor thats no different then a US spec one?

He's probably talking about Evo 3 swap. I wish they didn't switch sides in the engine bay. Mad people would have 8 and 9 motors.

well don't the "full swap" come with a tranny aswell? I think they do, plus ill just sell the stuff i don't need and get some money back. and 1,500 is kinda worth not having to deal with peoples lies or the chance you might get a call you have my stolen motor and i want it back (I've seen it happen before everyone at the last imax movie theatre show in kop saw it happen but with a fmic)

If you really need a 6 bolt I may be able to locate one for you. That guy I was telling you about in King of Prussia may have a few laying around or at least know where to get one. He's away this weekend but I'll see what's up when he gets back.

That is always a possibility. The one he got my friend with the red 2g had a couple things done to it but he ripped it apart anyway and built it. It just depends on what work he does for people and what they owe him or pay him with. You going to be at the meet tuesday?
