Pickens Plan *everyone needs to read this*

this guy has a plan to save our country. watch the video.

http://www.pickensplan.com

I never post stuff like this but I saw his commercial last night on TV and it was pretty moving. I went to the website, read all about it, and signed up.
I think its a brilliant idea!

If you approve of his message pass it on to everyone you know, we need to spread the word to as many people so the powers that be will listen.

Join the army and lets make a change.

Discuss...

brilliant? hardly... he's regurgitating everything that everyone has been talking about already. And much like everyone else talking about the subject, he neglects to mention how this change will be paid for, from the creation of the basic building blocks to raising thousands of windmills, to building natural gas powered cars to building the stations for the natural gas...

did you even watch the video? he's talking about making our country self sufficent by not needing to import oil.

we can generate thousands and thousands of new jobs in the heartland of the country and thats just the start.

yeah I watched the video... he's talking about making our country self sufficient by not needing to import oil... but he's not talking about how its going to be paid for. We all know about natural gas and wind power... its not news...

News would be, "this is how we could pay for a complete change of how we get/make our power, without further destroying our economy"

generating jobs does not equal generating money...

we cant generate jobs if the money isnt available to pay the people... with the funds wrapped up in actually building this stuff the money will be scarse.

how are we going to continue to pay $138 a barrel for oil?

I'm sure you heard the saying "you have to spend money to make money", well, sometimes you have to spend money to SAVE money.

I would rather put $ in the pockets of American workers then Saudi oil sheeks like we are doing now.

so you're saying don't do anything and continue on the same path... that makes a lot of sense.

There is no free lunch. this country is in a world of hurt and its got to change directions this upcoming election. things aren't just going to fix themselfs.

I don't have all the answer but I do know there is no easy cheap way to repair a mess this big so its going to take some hard work. I for one am not afraid of doing work, especially if it means a better future for my kids in the long term.

If someone comes up with a new invention that will revolutionize power for less money you have my interest, otherwise it's all just talk.

tell me how the economy is going to just fix itself?

this guy has a plan, a damn good one at that, and its a step in the right direction.

sitting around and "letting the economy fix itself" is not the answer.

this guy DOESN'T have a plan... telling people that wind power and natural gas is the way to go is not a plan...

Now, if he wants to piece together a plan to get wind power and natural gas to be in use... then yeah... that would be a plan...

I keep saying, we've all known about wind power and natural gas. The issue is, the money to develop either (let alone both) into something our country can use effectively is not there.

This guy threw together a website, called using wind power and natural gas HIS plan so that when we finally get around to it he can take some credit, and people like you are just going to give it to him.

its not sitting around... trust me.. if the government would stop subsidizing every little thing, the economy would crash and then rebuild itself.

you and i both know that would take time either way.

but this isn't about subsidizing anything, its about decreasing our dependency on imported oil.

subsidizing; thats a whole different situation that needs its own solution... but I still don't think sitting around and letting the economy fix itself is the answer to that one either.

Nobody is saying they invented anything. WInd and solar power has been around for almost 40 years but up until now what has anyone done to try and incoroprate it into our infrastructure.

This a plan of attack that has a well thought out means to an end. Its not going to be the flick of a switch and bam no more oil. Its a way to substatute a portion of our imported oil dependency with another resource that we can profit from as a country. SO its a win win because we decrease our spending on forgin oil and put money into our country.
