Deadly Crash Shuts Down I-95

http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?se...cal&id=6258527
http://cbs3.com/topstories/i.95.accident.2.768747.html

Somebody I know was involved in this accident. I just left work and walked to the scene.

A truck traveling southbound attempted to avoid a collision swerved left and flipped over the gaurdrail into oncoming traffic.

Atleast two people are dead. One is still laying on the side of I-95

I just saw it on TV you can see the two sheets and the blood trail to the sheets
on the side of the road. Something I could have gone without seeing this morning.

The top sheet is a body. The second sheet is definitely a body part.

The crap laying in the southbound side is groceries. Probably from the bed of the pickup. I saw a entire turkey laying in the street and a box of cheerios.

hmmm... go figure, a highway accident caused by a truck. never seen that before. IMO big rigs/trucks should have their own designated and separate lane. Let them crash into each other and jackknife and hold up traffic for hours in their OWN lane.

EDIT: oops, was it not a tractor trailer, but a pickup truck??? Then I fail again... but big rigs still suck balls.

There should CLEARLY be a separate path of travel for COMMERCIAL vehicles (aka. trucks) and COMMUTER vehicles (tiny hyundais that would get demolished in an accident with a big rig)... its unsafe.

Those truck drivers are [mostly] HORRIBLE drivers and A-holes. They weave in and out and switch lanes like they're driving a car. Just yesterday, I almost smashed into the rear of a truck who WAS in the exit lane for the NE Extension, then at the last minute he swerves (across the painted lines for the exit ramp) back onto Blue Route directed traffic. He was on a CELL PHONE TOO! Stuff like that makes me want to rip my hair out.

Sorry to hear about your buddy...we're all just rolling the dice traveling on these $h177y f'ing hiways around philly everyday...

I couldn't agree less with you. Ever drive a big truck down the highway? People treat you like assholes. They cut off huge trucks when traffic slows down, they don't let them over. Big Rigs get in less accidents with other people then any other type of automobile accident. If you would just realize that they are usually from across the country and don't always know exactly where they are and that driving a 100ft truck isn't easy and you would give them some space there would be non problem.

i was going to respond to that inane comment as well but I figured it'd be pointless if
the guy was stupid enough to post something that ridiculous in the first place.

In fact yes I have. I used to drive box trucks up to NYC all the time to pick up gear. I knew I was in a big, obstructive, slow moving vehicle with poor manuverablilty.... so i ALWAYS observed teh speed limit and stayed in the right lane....

Can't tell you how many big rigs I see PASSING in the left lane.

Oh, and I guess you should probably realize that my company has 5 grip trucks (newest of which is a 10-ton truck, getting painted in our parking lot as I type). Our drivers are DOT certified (i handle all the DOT cert files, etc..)

In fact, one of our drivers is down stuck on 95 near Aragomingo right now..... he just called in.

So yeah, i know ALL about trucks... thanks. But i would love to see evidence/proof/facts for some of the claims you make about trucks getting in less accidents per ratio.

You're a retard. Go learn something before you start posting. Actually, go get a degree for trucking.

10 tons and box trucks are NOTHING like rigs. Get something that needs a higher class license, cupcake.

Jeffros is correct.

So true. I always have a huge ****ing issue with douchebags trying to cut me off when I'm rockin +100k lbs. It's neigh impossible to stop in time. The only reason I've avoided accidents was because the drivers made a smart move and cut back into their empty lane before I pancaked them.

i let trucks over if theyre trying to switch lanes. at some times they will be nice back and block off other people so you can go by.

Thats why you should have your own road.... see how much happier you are when its all you big rig drivers smashing into each other and jackknifing in your very own lane... that should teach them.

btw- i don't drive trucks (anymore) and have absolutely no desire to...thats why i went to college. Our staff drivers are CDL fyi, so again...I know enough about trucks.

I drove though the scene around 1:30-2:00pm, what I saw what looked like a bunch of bags on the side of the road and maybe a small puddle of blood still. Its a shame that there are assholes out on the road who have to drive when they really shouldn't be.
