iPhone owners, What Apps are you running??

I've had my iphone for a lil while now but I've been so busy with school that I havent really got to look into any of the apps yet.

So I was just curious what you guys are using and which ones you recommend or don't based on your experience with them.

I have mine, but never really got into adding apps onto it, just have the apple updates.

Depends on what your planning to do with it...I went kinda nuts.... I used to use summerboard, but now switched to Customize beta since im running firmware 1.1.1.4 But i use iBlackjack while in school, amaze and ragingthunder.

If you guys need any help with finding sources for installer.app let me know i have a few good ones i use on the daily...HOWEVER they take the program longer to load

But i will say with customize you can add sound's like i have borat for when i recieve SMS' messages also change what it says for the slide to unlock...

Im not really trying to go crazy. I really don't know anything about it since i'm just now starting looking into it. I would like to get some better alerts for my text messages tho.

What do the apps you listed do? Im pretty sheltered as far as the apps go lol. The only ones I've been looking at are the ones on the Apple site.

Edit: Also if you know of any good sites where I could read up on some of this stuff would be awesome.

I was just trying to find one that I could do my own ringtones with without paying for ITunes....

Other than that I dont see a use for other apps.

Edit: Apparently the site I downloaded it from took it down. It's Techlogg Toneshop tho if you want to look for it. You can cut the song to the part you want and then it converts it to the iphone format for you. And you just have to drag it into the ringtones section of your itunes.

I looked at kate and said screw it just because i didn't like the name.

Oh and for ringtone's i purchased a program that was 14.99$ but its unlimited ringtones and it loads them into itunes....i have so many on there it paid for itself after the first week. if anyone is interested in that http://www.efksoft.com/products/ipho...aker/index.htm

FYI- to those who don't really know you need to jailbreak your phone in order to have the installer.app program on there thats where you gain alot of freeware.

I hacked my own phone and run OpenSSH, VNSea, PDF Viewer, Customize, and a bunch of games. I've also learned how to make my own battery icons, charging icons, Signal bars, slider buttons, just about everything. I know the damn phone and it's file system in and out.

I have a batch file that will convert any number of MP3 songs right to M4R which is the format used for ringtones on the iphone. It doesn't cost a penny, and you can load them right on your phone through SSH and WinSCP.

No not at all. Never had a problem syncing with itunes.

I jailbroke my phone for the first time this weekend, and put the Cydia loader on there. I finally went thru all it's updates and it wouldn't let me update an "essential" file, so would give me errors constantly. My phone was constantly crashing, so I had to restore it. I'm not impressed with Cydia.

But when I did have it unlocked for those 2 days I put on the "Band" app which was a bunch of fun, and Garf, which is like Simon.

has anyone made a landscape/sideways keyboard yet? i use my friends iphone from time to time, and typing on the tiny keyboard is annoying. something that lets you type with the phone sideways would be mucho appreciated.

Like other people said be careful with what you do with that thing. I've bricked mine NUMEROUS times back when I was writing jailbreaking software and it's not a fun task to try and get it running correctly again. Start up Installer and go to town, just make sure you read the "More info" sections so your sure it won't mess anything up.

I used iLiberty+ to jailbreak it, really really simple to do, but you only have the option to install Cydia, and was unsure how to use Installer. But because of the crashing IDK if I want to put Cydia back on.

I would not use Cydia. Installer is very easy to use.

Only tools i use on my phone from my PC are the ultimate iphone kit, and iringtonemaker

Other than that its all **** from installer..

With that don't use alot of "untrusted sources" i found a link to a website that had a HUGE source list which i added to my phone....It took me 10 minutes to refresh it, than i downloaded a corrupt version of "customize 2.0 beta" and it locked my phone up...so im starting fresh btw if you ahve a source for "gravytrain themes for summerboard" use em...sickest themes i have seen yet
