Anyone go to University of Delaware?

I currently go to BCCC and will be graduating Spring 09. I am thinking about going to University of Delaware for the Distance Learning program.

I have a mtg set up for the 28th. I was just wondering if anyone has gone to, (or knows of anyone that has gone to), U of DE or used the distance learning program. I would be going for hospitality.

Thanks

Good to hear. Thanks for your input

My professor who knows a lot about the field of hospitality highly recommends this school. Its one of the top in the country

They do trimesters from what I've heard..which is good-get my degree done quicker!

UD is a great school for a lot of different programs. Unfortunatly, I do not have any first hand expirence, but from what I have heard, it is a great school to go to. Best of luck if you decide to attend.

x2. it is DEF a PSU-wannabee school for Delaware...heck, they have to attract kids to DE somehow! lol. Definitely a big party/frat scene. Lots of meathead athletes like PSU. Lots of drugs (haha, i drove there from college in baltimore my freshman year to get acid... lol) etc...

A girl from my street in gradeschool ended up going there... very quiet, reserved catholic high school girl... I saw her on a "Girls Gone Wild: College Campus Tour" trailer commercial. she was wasted in a limo and flashed her boobies!

I go to the university of delaware.
I am going to be a senior there this coming semester. I have loved every year of school so far, and I really hate how fast it went by. Delaware is a great school, it has actually become very competitive since I was a freshman, and its pretty difficult to get it. The campus is really nice.

If you have any questions about it, I would be happy to answer. I know nothing about the program you are talking about. I am in the business school

Not sure what you mean by trimesters.

At UD there is a Spring semester and a Fall semester. So just two semesters each year.
Then UD also offers a winter session and summer session where you can take classes if you want to. They dont offer as many classes during winter and summer, and there arent as many options for class times obviously.

Classes run throughout the day. They really give a lot of flexibility, especially for the more generic classes (100-300 level classes). I usually have class in the morning from around 10am-12 or 1pm. I like getting out early.
Some people pack all their classes in to monday wednesday and friday and then they have tuesdays and thursdays off. Like I said, lots of options.

The only thing I really dont like about UD is the spring break. That might sound stupid, but they give 8 weeks off. After 4 weeks, I get bored out of my mind, especially after all my friends from other schools go back to school. I am always working when I am not in school though, so thats how I keep myself busy. The reason for the long spring break is because of their study abroad programs. Delaware is very well known for their great study abroad programs...I really encourage you to look into that if you are interested.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

i go to ud also. it's a nice school, except that there are close to 300 kids per class, so trying to become a face and not a number to your prof is close to impossible.
my mom works at the distance learning center, so she is the person you would be talking to in order to set that up.
The distance learning is amazing. they give you all your lectures on cd and you can watch them whenever it's convenient for you.

I've always felt that UD is either hit or miss, I attended for a couple years until i finally decided that I was sick of the lack of integrity. Recently switched to Goldey Beacom, and another 26 credits and i'm at Dartmouth. I truly disliked UD, but also know many people who couldn't be happier.

Why did you dislike it? What was your major?
