XBOX 360 HD question

OK here is my setup

XBOX 360 premium using the original composite cable on HDTV mode

Sony KP-46WT510 TV 46"

My 360 has an HDMI port but the TV reads at 1080i at the highest resolution

Will getting an HDMI cable give any difference in image quality??

Here is a pic of the back of the TV

thanks

edit: those who are using HDMI, is there a noticable difference over 1080i??

HDMI comes in a few different models, you don't need the 1000 model, which carries 1080p. Go and get either the monster 500 or 700 model, you'll get a crisper picture in 1080i with the HDMI for sure. Component cables are analog.. so you have an analog piece between two digitals... go figure. HDMI FTW.

You're using composite (Red, white, and yellow) or component (red, green, blue) currently?

Composite to HDMI will be definite PQ difference. Component to HDMI has it's advantages, but depending on your setup the difference may not be as noticeable.

I don't see an HDMI port on the back of that TV (unless it is hidden) so keep in mind you will need an HDMI to DVI cable.

For short cable spans, you can go with something from MonoPrice.com. It's really only when you are going to span long lengths.

If the cable conforms to HDMI standards, then it can support a 1080P signal (HDMI 1.0 supported HDMI), regardless of what Monster says you need (of course they want you to buy that $100 3' cable thinking you're going to get better PQ).

I think its component, Im using 5 cables to hook the 360 to the TV. No HDMI port on the TV

the 5 cables are component HD then. You may just want to stick with those if you don't even have an HDMI port.. save your money for a new TV, lol.
