Ive heard that the blackberry does not qualify for family plans? That sounds a little rediculous. I need a new phone and my buddy is willing to give me his old BlackBerry. I believe i was just misinformed that you have to pay per minute for phone calls, rather than the plan i have which is like 700 minutes and unlimited texts. Can someone clarify this for me? I tried calling verizon but they put me on hold after i asked the question for around 20 minutes each time.

not that is not true. i just recently got the blackberry pearl. but you do HAVE to pay an extra $30/month because it's a bb device. you must pay for the e-mail/internet/all that other ****. you cannot have the phone without paying that extra $30/month.

It def works on a small business plan. I have the 8830.
