A boost controller won't lower boost. It might make the problem worse.

Replace or check your vac hose that is going to your actuator. With the cold weather your wastegate might not be big enough to control the boost. Porting the internal wasegate will help. Maybe get an o2 dump to help with the exhaust flow. Going to an external wastegate will help alot also.

Does this happen during warmer weather? Like 45 degree and up?

If your worried about over boosting I would put the stock exhaust back on for the time being.

when you get on the car does the boost creep up to around 20psi, or does it go straight up to that? i also think you should get a boost controller. Dejon tools mbc only costs 50 bucks. i think you may be getting boost creep.

yea when i get on it, it hit 15 than goes all the way to about 20, the car is basicly stock with a turbo back, and intake on it. i mean other things are done but not to the engine or anything like that. i have UICP all but the one after the BOV. plugs wires (but that wouldnt make it do this) and thats about it

also if i get a boost controller that wont solve the problem only hid it correct?

Porting the wastegate hole and even porting the stock o2 housing will do a much better job of preventing creep then slapping on a boost controller.

I would put on another stock cat or something until your ready to turn up the boost or do some port work. Doing port work on the stock turbo is easy on the DSM. Just gotta take it easy on the bolts.

A boost controller is good for turning up the boost from stock settings not turning it down.

well i was going to buy a 16g with a bigger internal wastegate. would that help? also i have a front mount IC but i need hard pipe, should i start to install these things, also have FIC 650cc with a walbero 255, these are all waiting to get put in, plus i just ordered DSMlink.

on the other hand if you know anyone who has an AWD downpipe and cat let me know i need to get through inspection

getting a mbc won't hide the problem....i wouldn't bother doing any porting. you'll have to pull the turbo off to do all of that anyway. you might as well just wait till you get the 16g to pull everything off so you aren't doing the job twice.

Is your boost controlled by the Boost control solnoid still? if it is... those are known for goin bad from time to time. There is a test procedure in the mitsu manual if ya have one. I would just get a Turbo XS High performance manual boost controller and bypass the one that the computer controls, once you put a turbo back exhaust and a intake the solnoid has some trouble controlling boost.

We have the boost controllers in stock if ya need one...

After I put my turboback on it started boosting very high. I was told once I got a MBC my problem would be solved. I'de say my problem is just as bad if not worse.
