An f20 swap is going to run you about 4k+ while a h22 will prob run you 2500-3000k. The f20b is just the euro type-r motor. For that you will need the matching f20b trans and ecu or you can put a f22,f23,h22,h23 trans onto it as they are all interchangable. Also if you plan to build the motor parts are more expensive as american companies do not carry them since that is not a common motor in the us. For price wise, power wise, and aftermarket wise h22 is the way to go.

I never understand why the usdm preludes had the h22a for the normal prelude (besides the low model f22 models) but the si's had the less powerful h23a motor?

i had the h22 swap in the accord.it was nice and moved pretty good.my boy had a f20b in a eg hatch and that moved really good as well.basically its a judgement call on your part.and you can run a very nice basicchrome chip in a p28 or p06(my personal choice) for cheap.hit me up in pm if interested.later, jay

are you trying to do the "g23" swap? the older f23 series accord motors with a h22 vtec head?
ive had a couple of local friends do this swap. check this thread out: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1046336 heres a dyno plot of someone with just a f23 block and a non-vtec h23 head: http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...ZkMzF5NTQx.jpg 200whp, 183wtq nonVTEC 87mm bore 97mm stroke (overbored F23 shortblock) 11.7 compression DC header w/ 2.5" collector and dented down pipe Custom 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust Crower Stage 3 nonVTEC cams RM springs/retainers Adjustable cam gears MSD SCI ignition w/ Blaster SS coil (dyno proven to be good for 1.5hp *everywhere*) Mobile 1 10w30 oil Prelude 345cc injectors (woefully inadequate at sea level) 4th gear pulls if you are talking about something else, my bad

that motor setup i posted costed 400 dollars. he later added the aftermarket cams and such, but if you had the parts around its supposed to be an easy swap.

I've thought about it since its a much cheaper build and its a good motor set-up. You can also use the f22 block and just put the h series head on it the same. Its kinda awesome how f and h series for the most part bolt right up and are interchangable.

problem is my motor has 190k on the clock all i want is a cool dd not another "project car" i have 1 already and when things go wrong it takes time.. from what i understand i don't need a tranny for f20 swap just motor and ecu that's it everything from h22 fits this car...

F and H series motors and transmissions (Excluding the S2k's F20C) are all interchangeable.
Also a major problem with the g series motor is supposedly the motors only last about a year before just dying

that's exaclty why i don't want a hybrid my boy had a ls/vtec went to the track on the way back it died don't know what happend it needed a rebuild. i'd rather drop a motor in and do basic bolt ons and call it a day and have a nice peppy accord 4dr. that just happens to redline at 8k...

nah i just want something to drive around in that has some pep and my wife can drive and not worry about turbo lines blowing off, boost leak, and the other misc. things with turbo cars, + i already have a dsm gutted--so no need for that.. looks like f20 is the way to go and obd conversion harness..
