I got out of my car today in the school parking lot and started heading towards the school, and there i see before me, on the right a blue Acura type S, and right across on the left a WRX. That WRX sure looked good.

I know all the good things about it.

Anything bad?

my buddy has a stg 2 06 with like 30k miles on it....only matinence hes done besides oil changes were the brakes once.....his car runs so ****ing amazing. of course its no 500whp wrx....but it has enough power and tq to make a great daily driver....

I thought the 06 trannys had some issues since that was the first year Subaru upped the displacement to 2.5L vs. 2.0L. So the trannys were having problems, or something. I might be wrong.

from what i recall, they made second gear much stronger. third gear is the weaker of the two.... or thats whats most broken now.

i come from the honda world... so i dont know how good i am for this conversation.

i love my stage 2 wrx. and i havent replaced my brakes yet. and i got 36xxx

Really 06/07 is one of the best years of the WRX so far. Its got the 2.5, 4 pot/ 2 pot brakes, and wagons were finally offered with a sunroof. The only downside is the trans, but that is such with any wrx. As long as you dont beat the crap out of it you'll be fine till you can source up a solution for it.
