OK so we recently got a firebird, 02 formula, and the doorskin is fiberglass, but a chunk of it is cracked off, with the fabric sticking out. its getting repaired by a pro, but im just wondering how the repair is done, or if the whole skin has to be replaced.

there are a few ways to do it. lord fusor makes produts to use like a body filler but its made for fiberglass. another way ( i wouldnt think they would do this if they are a pro) get fiberglass resin and matt "v" out some of the existing dorskin and apply resin and matt till close to filled then use some kombi putty or metal glaze to get the finished look. primer/paint then follows either step

Cool thanks. I kinda figured it wasnt just a bondo and paint job

well if they are as pro as you say it shouldnt be but yes regular old bondo "body filler" will do the job to not show the problem but wont hold up as long as the right products for the job.

thanks for the info. that answered my question too.Lol. i have a cracked s14 fenders. i'm not spending another dime on a new fenders were i could get it fix myself.
