I own one. Pros you've listed VALUE-that was my primary reason. Some more off the top of my head:

-03 & 04.5 model years had a power train warranty of 7/70k right from Dodge-I can't think of another manf. that could match that in the same year-perhaps Hundai?
-gas mileage (if conservative) approx 27 mpg for a 230 hp rated vehicle: my best demonstrated: 27mpg, worst: 8.3mpg
-go and review the results of 1 Lap-SRT4 did well in it's class
-easily upgradeable & relative cost for: suspension & engine
-04 & 05 models have LSDs, bigger injectors, few more hp
-sturdy tranny and engine overall if driven normal

Cons:
-gas mileage poor (if you like boost)
-03 model-NO LSD
-questionable support/warranty for Mopar Stage upgrades from dealers
-stock rake
-rear tension strut bushings, soft
-narrow stock wheels: 17x6
-rear windows are manual: all years (already stated)
-lack of muffler (stock design) vs. local law enforcement
-no cruise control

That is all that I can think of right now. If you want to do more research I would suggest SRTForums.com. Good luck.

As for the power rear windows.. if it really bothers you THAT much.. there is a kit sold on srtforums for about 200 i believe, maybe a little more, maybe a little less to convert them to power

i ride in the drivers seat so i couldnt care less if theres cranks back there or not.

lets see.. mine is an 03 and i have 35,450 miles as of the last time i parked it in the garage.

ive been back to the dealership for 1 problem, bad headlight lenses which seemed to be a problem on early 03's but i havent seen anyone with an 04+ with the problem. the dealer was totally cool and had a new set(w/ revised part #) for me within a week, no questions asked.

wheelhop is a problem of course but that comes with the territory. solid front lower control arm bushings and upgraded motormounts will get rid of it COMPLETELY.

i have seen a bunch of '05 owners with tranny problems(but being covered under warranty). as howard said.. 03's and early 04's have the 7/70, whereas 05's do not.

basically.. for every nag of the car there is a relatively simple fix.

and of course the mopar stage kits are awesome for easy to install and reliable performance.

oh and the other major problem, if you consider it one, is that NOONE will take the car seriously or give it respect.. heck based on your first post you seemed ashamed to want to get one so you know first hand.

any other specific questions let me know and ill do my best to answer

you all forgot the 3000 ft turning radius. that's my only real complaint. everything else that you want to nitpick about the car can be fixed for pretty cheap from the aftermarket. there's a huge aftermarket segement for the car now.

i have a 03 with 20k on her. no major issues other than the ones i've caused by modding and going to the track. i like to break stuff at the track

ok so it sounds like the 2004 is the best deal really it has lsd and the warranty would carry over to me being the owner (already checked with dealership) and as long as theres no "red flags" on the vin then its all good and ill be able to keep modding it with mopar stuff and keep the warrenty

as long as you are not the third owner. only first and second owner get the warranty.

SRT

It is a great car and can stand up to alot of abuse. Keep it stock and it will last for a long time. No one gives them respect until they race you and realize. I can't wait to see the look on some people's faces when they come across me on the street with my new setup. I had no major problems with a bigger turbo for over 1 yr. Turning radius does suck though.

yeah i dont know what the deal is, theres a lot of guys pushing 500+whp but none of them seem to be able to do anything.

then you have guys like tiny, who i believe only dynoed 3xx(albeit the setup may have changed since then, and he may have a newer/higher dyno) to the wheels, running 11's all day long. just goes to show theres more to the game then the high #'s

At that point of pushing 500+ HP you have to ask yourself, what is the LIMITING FACTOR HERE? You need enough beefing up of the tranny to match the engine.
