Limited Tort / Full Tort

Just wondering what percentage of people on here are either full tort or limited tort.

If you don't know the difference:

Limited Tort: If you get nailed by somebody else your right to recover money for bodily injury is limited to pretty much medical bills and out of pocket expenses for medication unless the injury is defined as serious. You will not be able to sue for pain and suffering unless you sustain a serious or permanent injury, which has been defined by the Pennsylvania Courts as a "serious impairment of a bodily function."

Full Tort: With Full Tort, you can seek money for your pain and suffering for any injury you receive in an auto accident, provided that someone else is at fault for the accident. You do not have to worry about whether you have a serious injury. Choosing Full Tort on your policy instead of Limited Tort does cost a little more on your insurance premium, but it could mean thousands of dollars to you if you are ever injured in an auto accident

I'm full tort and have been since I started driving. Basically for a small investment now you could potentially recover a lot more if you are involved in an automobile accident.

Full tort and massive amounts of liability coverage on all vehicles.

You guys should really select full tort.

For me the difference was like $300/year or something like that. So worth it. I work for a insurance company and I'm telling you its worth it.

Full tort here. The difference was $160 for me, since I'm already getting raped by the insurance company, whats another $160? It's good insurance (literally) that if I get in an accident (I believe an accident only if I'm NOT at fault), I have recourse to pay for my medical bills, and don't have to worry about the high dollar insurance lawyers calling my injury minor. At least that was my insurance agent/friends advice. After reading about it, it was good advice.

The only real difference between full and limited tort is the ability to sue for pain and suffering.

If you choose limited tort and are seriously injured, there are still ways around it so that you can file suit.

i've got full. Unless you are driving some haggered up pos you should always have full tort, its not even that much more expensive...it only costs me an extra 50 bucks every 6 months

Full Tort. Anybody who gets Limited should kick themselves very firmly in the crotch. Seriously. Being a cheapass now can end up screwing you bigtime later. Out of work for a month because of an accident that you fully recover from? Sorry, you limited tort folks can't collect lost time or damages since your injury wasn't permanent. Think a broken arm is a "serious" injury? Try losing your arm. Completely. Then it becomes something you can collect for.

Limited Tort is STUPID.

If you have collision coverage on your new car you'll get your money back.
It's just a question of time lost and "pain and suffering", which is dicking up our legal system anyway.

Now if you're like me sinking 12k into a car worth 1k KBB with no collision coverage, you might think about having a way to collect some extra money.
But I'm both cheap and indifferent. Total my car and i'll get over it. YOU may not... but I will.

how then hell does it cost you a thousand a month for full coverage??? I find that a little steep. Most high risk people will pay around 5k a year. thats double that...nobody would insure you if your driving record was that bad. And if your record is that bad, you seriously need to shop around
