It was a bit "farty" down low, but i'm guessing "race" just means now cats, resonators, or mufflers. The rear flange looks like it hangs well below the bumper.

yea pretty much straight pipes. and the rear flange is not lower than any of the stock components were. so ground clearance was not sacrificed.

and yea it does sound farty, so we are welding in an inline muffler and possible a resonator.

but if any one wnted to know what a rx8 uncorked sounded like, that was it

i must have left the resonator part out when u asked me my opinion on race pipes for renesis engines. if u wanted full on race setup i guess thats it but for DD most race setups from other omps have a small resonator to rid it of the fartness, and it does a decent job at killing off that horrid sound. imo if it was for track duty only i had the idea of runnin three pipes runnin out the P/ side fender, one pipe per exhaust port, straight out.

but if hes DD it then id say thro a resonator on it. watch urself as to where the exit for the pipe is, its lookin kinda close to the rear bumper there and we all kno what catless rotaries will do to rear bumpers...!

keep me updated on any new things u do to the ol' rene. i want this to come out as nice as possible but unless ur doin turbo theres no reason for bolt ons on the rene motor. its tapped. ive seen rene's with open exhaust after a custom header make 3 whp more than stock....they just flo too well from the factory.

1.3l can only make so much power when N/a

but add some boost.....o my
keep up the good work dood

Overall i like the welding job and what not, However to keep the look of the RX8's dual tipped setup i would have used a Y pipe. And look into either dual 6" resonators like the SRT use stock, or a 20" reso. It will remove alot of the drone and add a overall strong sound

o u r puttin in a resonator? sweet, dont put on that muffler, just do the resi. itll tone it down enuff, look up the race exhaust from turboxs they have a good sound thats somewhat dialed down on idle to a nice somehwat deep tone at idle but goes toa nice screech at full power. hearin it at 9500 is great. if u go turbo u wont need a resi, the turbo will quiet it enuff, just for a lil hint....la la la la la

and y pipes are gay.

after the exhaust is done i am going to build an intake (copy of the revi but cooler design), after that i'm getting the racing beat reflash (race version), agency power pullies and tanabe springs, stainless brake lines, probably Hawk hp plus pads and slotted rotors. then finally a little of .... la la la la la
