Going to need some new good tires... anyone?

I got some 16" 16x7" rims and I am going to need tires in the near future. I am looking at 225/50/R16 for these rims. They really don't need to be like high end.. but something that isn't like pepboys "Futura" cheap. I mean some Z rated tires be nice, but most likey they will be pricey. With these tires I am going to need to have the rims balanced with them. If you can offer one of the 2 services I need, go ahead and PM me or whatever. Thanks

Just bought these for my car, and they rock. Awesome tire per dollar.

Actually I plan just to use these rims up untill winter. I don't want these rims being in the snow and getting all messed up by the road-salt. So really I guess some summer tires will do just good. If not all season tires as well. Whatever someone can get.

Kumho Ecsta MX's, best tires i've ever had on a car. grip is on par with Flaken Azenis, they don't get greasy when hot like the Azenis and also have a longer treadlife.

With the ratings on the tires like Z rated being the best out there, does it effect like handing performace? or just like the top speed in which the tire can take? Really I am trying to get the best "handing" tire out there. Top speed really doesn't matter because I won't be doing like 150mph anytime soon. However I want a tire that when you take turns, it holds the road and doesn't want to slide out. So do i need to get a Z rated tire? Or something under that will do just fine?

the higher the speed rating, the stiffer the sidewall of the tire (generally). but reviews (and not the ones on tire racks site) are a much better indication than speed rating alone.

Exactly. Its hard for people to judge tires regardless of what they think. Many people will experience about 3-4 sets of tires (max) with a particular car. A lot of the reviews you'll find will be like "these tires are the best! I had the _____'s on my town car and they were junk compared to these!, the _____'s are sweet (on my Miata)."

Both the G-Force and MX are a good choice.
For all out performance look into Bridgestone s03 as well.

I think your best bet would be to go with Kumhos. The Ecsta ASX's would fit you well.

Yeah those are some really nice tires, thanks for the post. I am kind of on back burner with getting tires now. Because all the other parts I just bought from two other websites.. where a dead beat...

Can confirm after being in the car with LShatch..

I've had Conti Sports and they were trash in the rain, traction was alright.
I've had Sumitumo HTRZII and they were amazing in the rain traction was pretty good (good 60')'
I now have a ****ty combo of Ventus HR2's and they blow balls.
I have Pilot Sport PS2 sitting in my garage waiting for my car to get fixed and than I'll let you know.
