1999 plymouth breeze

my mom is going to buy me one for 500$ .. only thing is it has 135k miles.. the seller said it is well maintained and runs fine because it is a company car but i was wondering would i be able to rebuild the engine with new parts and be able to trust it to last.. like wat should be replaced and etc..

also i am thinking big very sleeper on this one and i want to modify a 99 dodge neon turbo kit for the car.. it has the same engine so the only thing that wil lbe modded is the tubing for length and etc... so wats every1 think.. good first car??

p.s. it is a five speed

i am starting to think i wil keep it stock and but one thing that will have to be done is the interior will have to come out and be swapped or super cleaned because the owner was a smoker and i cant stand the smell of cigarets... but anyway im thinkin this will be my everyday car and i will start a real project car that has an aftermarket for it when i move out cus right now theres not even any real room to keep the breeze in front of the house

having the breeze means having 3 cars in a 2 car driveway and 2 cars parked in front of the house where only one should fit

Modding it would be cool, but its your daily driver! You cannot afford to have it off the road for months at a time, can you?

hmm im not saying keep it stock but do take your time in modifying. what you have there is the dohc 2.0 / 5 speed cloud car and while its aftermarket may not be huge thats the EXACT SAME drivetrain one would find in a 1st gen neon r/t which does have lots of parts. also, theres no need to waste lots of money on an srt/ptgt motor since a regular 2.4 motor can be had for a few hundred and srt/pt piston/rods about the same. blocks plenty strong, just gotta swap bearings

i say keep it stock b/c its a ****in plymoth breeze.....what kind of sense would it be to mod that....plus this kid just got his licence like a month ago....now unless he has money literally falling out of his ass to dump into a srt 4 swap, i don't think he'll do it.

maybe its me, but i LOVE sleepers. and a breeze with a SRT swap.........well, who would ever expect that? i had a 93 corolla when i first started driving. now, being 16, i didnt know **** about making my car fast. for a corolla, it was pretty quick stock, and i loved it, so i made it look nice. i have been looking for another identical one to this day, so that i can make it fast now that i know what im doing, and cant find one. so, if anyone knows where theres a 93 corolla, white, base model, 4 door, 5 speed, with a blue interior, let me know.
