it's swapped. it's slow. its driven daily....

i used to drive a turbo V6 probe... but made a deal on another car and thats gone now, but ive always loved the probe and since i coudl tear one apart and put it back together in a few hours i figured id buy one to drive daily

i found this one... a 93' gt, with the jdm mazda KLZE engine already swapped for next to nothing, (the ze has higher compression, different heads, cams, intake manifold etc... and 50 horsepower over the stock klde)

the downfall of the car is that it's auto so i dont really get to enjoy it as much as i'd like, and since it isn't boosted *cough* yet *cough* it's slow

anyway..i had a lot of leftover parts from my gts turbo lying around that were just dying to be put on this one to make it a good looking daily

over the weekend i installed:

-Tokico Springs
-96' tails and harnesses
-97' Mirrors
-18' Konig imagines
-Stock guage cluster (replaced ghetto indiglo crap)
-Mazda badging on the front and rear

i also got rid of some things:

-Antenna
-Spoiler
-broken fogs

and here's the result...

and here she was this time last week:

the clear coat is awful due to an obvious bad respray... and the side skirts have seen better days, but for the small amount ive got invested int he car so far im very impressed

but i must say, compared to driving a boosted kl for a year the ze feels like a dog...

later guys-

Jason

the ford probe/mazda mx6's share the same motor as is the same of the ford escort gt/ mazda protege which actually in addition to the motor share the same BG chassis. i never ventured into the probes/mx6 enough to know if those two share the same chassis as well. the motors are readily swapped between each of the cars listed. escort gt BP/BPT to protege is straight swap. as are the KL03/KLZE series motors between the probe and mx6. a KL motor into a protege/egt is a bit more work but also a good alternative to the BPT if you want to retain NA power.
regards
Desmond.

jason, you need a corksport lip, bad.

as for the motor swap, the KLZE actually comes out of a mid sized sedan in japan... i had ZE heads on my old mx6... they are nice, breathe very well up top... i really want another mx6 jason, eff you.

I miss my probe's. 1st decent car I bought back when I was 16. Went 14.9 with a pretty stock car plus radials. I used to be on probetalk.com but I forget my username.
